Pelosi Upset About Styrofoam Coffee Cups In Congressional Cafeteria

Last night House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, taking to Twitter, blasted a decision by Republicans to return styrofoam cups to the congressional cafeterias:

So why did Republicans make the decision? Well, it’s all about saving the taxpayers money:

The change in Congress saw the House cafeterias replace slightly more expensive but environmentally-friendly biodegradable cups with more cost-effective though non-recyclable styrofoam cups.

The shift was part of the GOP’s move to phase out the “Green the Capitol” initiative Pelosi enacted after taking the speakership in 2007.

With the nation nearing a whopping $15 trillion in debt, “green” is a luxury we can’t afford.
