Pathetic: NY Couple Charged For Taking Pix Of Kids With Guns

All three of our kids were given a gun on their first birthday. All three were photographed at 12months old with an unloaded gun laying across their lap. I am guilty. The following story sans the drug charges are a bit over the top

NEW YORK (AP) – A New York couple face criminal charges after they allegedly photographed their 11-month-old and 5-year-old boys posing with guns.
Police say the 24-year-old mother told investigators she thought the photos would be funny.
Authorities found out about the pictures after the woman e-mailed them to friends and relatives, and one of them called the city’s child protection agency.
The woman and her boyfriend face child endangerment, weapons and marijuana charges.

Rob adds: Unless there’s more to this story than is being reported here, there was no reason for the government to get involved at all. Introducing children to guns is no crime. In fact, living in a society where guns are a prevalent and (at least in most parts of the country) accepted part of life, I think that failing to familiarize your children with guns and how to safely handle them is irresponsible.
