Palin’s $7 million book deal?

Now that McCains failed run is over, the real story of who the star of the ticket is coming out….potentially in $7M book deal according to estimates….

Just how much could the Alaska governor make from putting pen to paper? About $7 million, according to some estimates.

Apparently prospective publishers must consider Palin to be the upcoming star of the GOP if they are willing to shell out that kind of cash.

As if there wasn’t enough proof already that Palin has achieved full pop-culture phenom status, consider this: Paparazzi photos of the governor have surfaced.
In the photos, which have popped up online, Palin is pictured lounging poolside (in T-shirt and shorts) doing, well, nothing.
“Even photos of her of her just sitting there, but looking like a normal person, could go for solid five-figure sums,” says one magazine editor.

Palin was on the scene for only a couple of months and can already command that kind of coin. Bill Clinton’s deal after his presidency was over was for only $10M.

“Bill Clinton made more than $10 million when he signed his deal in 2001 and that was the most for a former president,” says the source. “Sarah brings something different to the table — there is so much curiosity surrounding her and her life. If they move fast and get this thing on shelves, then a $7 million advance could be worth it.”

    Rezistik,

What’s the deal? It is almost certainty he had a ghostwriter. If not on DFMF, then definately on AOH. I have read both of them. I have a degree in comparitive literature. The same person did NOT write both of these books. But who cares? These books written by “celebrity types” all have either been totally ghost written or editted to the point of non-recognition by the author. If Palin does sign on to “write” a book, she would be f’ing nuts not to have a great ghostwriter. If you guys don’t believe me, a friend of mine is an editor. She has seen many manuscripts from people like Nicole Ritchie, Lance Armstrong, etc. Some of them are borderline retarded. She used to read me clips from some of their books, with the spelling added. Entertaining.

  • Rezistik

Robert while never mentioning Ayers you drove the conversation in that direction by saying I should google Obama’s ghostwriter, you did this so you could pass the blame along…

  • NDGAL

I am probably in the book when they talk about her in high school and her baskeball team. So I’ll definately buy it. Hmmmm…does that me famous? :)

  • NDGAL

Oops, sorry about the spelling. I did learn how to spell in school in Alaska, just so you know.

  • Rezistik

Those results could be for his speech writer, there is a difference between having an occasional speech writer and a ghost writer for your whole book

  • robert108

Follow the links. Here’s what I actually wrote:

…what is not pure speculation is that at least one of Obama’s books was ghostwritten.

If you follow the links, you will see why it’s not pure speculation that at least one of obama’s books was ghostwritten.

I’ll buy it. Does it have pictures??

  • di butler

That’s my feeling on it, Robert. I think he would have looked better to come out from the beginning and said he knew Ayers. And that they had had business dealings, not a friendship. I think most people wouldn’t have paid it nearly as much attention.

  • robert108

di: As far as I’m concerned, your allies only matter if they ahare your beliefs and principles. In the case of Ayers, I think they share a hatred of America, but the McCain campaign never got into Obama’s core principles, so who he hung out with didn’t matter. I am quite familiar with the core principles of black liberation theology, and they are scary to any real American.

  • Rezistik

I’m not ignoring facts because your presenting none, instead of linking me to facts you had me google them, maybe we are reading separate articles, either way it doesn’t take much to go from not being an author to writing a book he had publishers and those same publishers undoubtedly helped him polish it.

  • robert108

Google “obama ghost writer”; I just got 312,000 replies.
    Take your pick.

  • Rezistik

Robert108, your using conspiracy theories to tell me that Ayers wrote Obama’s book…

Okay, and the government was responsible for the September 11th attacks and did I mention they are really alien lizards in disguise?

IT is pure speculation that Obama had even one ghost writer and even more it is pure baseless conspiracy theory to say Ayers is definitively the imaginary ghost writer.

The link between Ayers and Obama is weak at best.

  • di butler

    Robert108,

I am not big on conspiracies and guessing about wild out there stuff, but I really do think Ayers co-wrote, editted, or ghost wrote DFMF. I have read a fair amount of Ayers writings, and the similarities are strong. I am not a professional in this field, I have never done any real analysis, but I can tell you that anyone who has any background as a reader will see the same thing. I don’t give a damn if Ayers wrote the whole thing, but I do think he lied about how well he knew Ayers, so I guess that would be interesting proof.

di: Of course we have to factor in the usual leftie double standard here. We only have Obama’s word that he wrote those books, unless he can produce the drafts and notes. Since he won’t even produce his actual birth certificate, I doubt we will see any evidence that he wrote those books.

  • robert108

    Kenyans aren’t Arab dumbass.

Wrong! Some of them, including Obama’s father and grandfather, are of Arab descent. You should do some research before you make a fool of yourself.

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

That’s ok Woof, I speak Alaskian gud.

  • robert108

…you did this so you could pass the blame along…

Wrong! I did no such thing; I directed you to do your own research, you made the connection, not me. No blame, btw. Most celebrity books are ghostwritten, so why are you so defensive about this? I have asked you several questions about it, and you have yet to answer.

  • robert108

Robert108, your using conspiracy theories to tell me that Ayers wrote Obama’s book…

No, I’m not; I repeat: there is some information to take the ghostwriting of at least one Obama book out of the realm of pure speculation. BTW, “pure speculation” is that based on nothing but the fantasies of the speculator.
While you obviously choose to ignore the points made by those who see stylistic parallels between Ayers and Obama in their “writing”, and the amazing transformation of Obama into polished author out of nothing, that is no proof of any “conspiracy” here, so that is pure speculation on your part.
You ignore facts to reinforce your partisan predigested pablum.

  • robert108

di: Note that this entire conversation about Obama’s possible ghostwritten books has been a distraction from Woof’s totally unfounded accusation that Sarah’s book is ghostwritten, even before it exists. I never named Ayers, or a conspiracy, but that one tried to turn the conversation that way. A number of experts have voiced an opinion that it was Ayers, and it certainly sounds possible.
I still wonder why the big fuss to deny this? Even if he did, so what? Is it not possible that the Messiah had someone else write his books? What’s the big deal?

  • robert108

…I see no facts other then similarities in writing style.

Your biased, partisan lack of vision is noted.

  • Rezistik

Robert108, his American birth has been a fact for a long time the fact that you believe that false conspiracy makes this Ayers thing look even less realistic

Di, I am not saying he definitively wrote it without a ghost writer, I’m saying that Ayers writing it is reaching.

  • robert108

You’re certainly welcome to speculate in whatever way you wish, but the Google links contain quite a few that make a detailed analysis of constructions and phrases used by both Obama and Ayers, and they are startlingly similar, sometimes identical. I never said it was proven fact, only that there is some evidence that at least one Obama book was ghostwritten.
It’s not my job to spoon feed you; if you were really interested in the truth here, you would have done the research yourself before spouting off on this thread.
You simply voiced a biased, partisan opinion about something of which you have no knowledge.

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

Will Sara’s book come with crayons, or will the crayons cost extra?

I’m afraid she isn’t writing it for you.

  • http://magyartruth.blogspot.com/ Chief RZ

In this case, IMO she will actually sell enough books for the publishers to honestly make money, unlike HC.

  • di butler

    Rezistik,

I will leave the final analysis to the pros. I stand by what I say. The writing style, wording, phrasing and tone is eerily similar. I would bet money on Ayers having some hand in the structuring. But, like I said, I don’t really care, I don’t think anyone will ever know how close the relationship is. Ayers is a low-life slug, but a very good writer. Everytime I hear his name I wonder to myself though, what he could have created and done good for the world if he wasn’t such a turd.

  • robert108

Wrong! He has not produced the actual birth certificate; that’s a fact. You are the only one who has used the word “conspiracy”, so I’ll leave that straw man for you.
There is some strong evidence to indicate a real possibility of Ayers ghostwriting for him; why are you so afraid to admit that? Partisan bias?

  • Rezistik

My opinion is neither biased nor partisan, I see no facts other then similarities in writing style.

  • robert108

    Ghost writers in the sky.

Pure speculation; what is not pure speculation is that at least one of Obama’s books was ghostwritten.
More leftie lying from you, Woof.
