Palin Nails Obama On Coal Comments

With this election hanging, at least partially, on the outcomes of Ohio and Pennsylvania Obama’s blunt assertion that his policies will make coal companies bankrupt could well be the silver bullet that kills his campaign.
The ball’s in McCain/Palin’s hand, and if Palin can harp on this coal issue loud enough to drown out her partner’s inexplicable decision to start talking about amnesty for illegal immigrants, she may just take it into the endzone.

if you look at this video http://wonkroom.thinkprogress.org/2008/11/02/obama-coal-plants/ . Mc cain has the same position as Obama. You guys will bring up any issue just not to vote for Obama .

  • Please dont let this happen

STOP THE OBAMANATION OF OUR COUNTRY!!!!!
I am so tired of all you LEFT WING NUTS just regurgitating the same old crap that the fly-by-media news CNN, MSNBC, ABC ,CBS keep reporting not one of those groups will air a report that shows McCain/Palin in a favorable light. They continue to dismiss all of the facts that Obama is nothing but a liar and a cheat and he has stolen this election.
Just doing a little research you can see that while a state senator Barrack Hussein Obama’s Voting record was nothing but yes yes yes to raise taxes, start more welfare projects and in effect has ruined the economy of the state of Illinois. They are 42nd of 50 in education, the third or forth in highest debt for a state. So what do you think he will do to our total economy!!
Poor Hillary and I am not a supporter of hers but she was railroaded and had her nomination stolen from her but that goes back to the stupid way the dems decide on a candidate but just do a little research and you will see how he stole the nomination from her. ie….. his supporters locking the doors early at the caucuses and bringing bus loads of supports from other areas and allowing them to vote.
If we elect this man I am leaving this great country and so will many others including those that own companies that employee many of us or they will just go out of business because spreading the wealth around leaves no monies for expansion!

Hey, North Dakotans, pay attention! We have plenty of coal and coal generation here. So it looks like Obama is going to put our workers and industry out of business.
As Obama is saying in his campaign, I will tax those rich people and distribute the money to those who need it. So after he closes down the coal industry he will take care of you—just like a rich Uncle. Uncle Sam, that is.

  • mplsbob

Obama “where are my minions to protect me from my own stupid comments?”
    RBB save me!!!!!!

My bad, I figured it in with the rest. Perhaps it should keep better company, then it would not get lumped in with a leftarded suckpuppet maestro.

There is a reason you don’t hear the full interview, it is because he has been taken out of context.
Lioncourt on November 2, 2008 at 09:51 pm

Bullshit!! Everything this racist-Marxist bastard has said, you morons claim that it was “taken out of context” as you mindlessly parrot DailyKos and HuffPo cretinous and dense talking points.

Put it “in context” for us Lioncourt. Give us a link to the video or transcript that has it in it’s proper context.

“I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.”

    -Barack Obama

“We need to take coal off the table.”-Barack Obama

“There will be no coal plants in America. If they want to build them, let them build overseas.” Joe Biden

    I can barely till…

That’s not the coal I knew. – Barack Obama

  • Lioncourt

There is a reason you don’t hear the full interview, it is because he has been taken out of context. He is talking about the need for new coal plants to be clean coal and not building old fashioned coal plants.

  • 2Hotel9

Lioncourt, wrong. The full context is that coal is going to go, it is old and dirty and no new plants will be allowed. Joe Biden and Barri have both been telling their wingnut environazi followers that for over a year, both of them during the primary season, and jointly since joining tickets.

    and

That coal was just coal from neighborhood, I was barely acquainted with it. Sometimes we’d meet on the street when it was walking its dog. I was only 8 at the time it was dirty. – Barack Obama

The USA is the Saudi Arabia of coal and Barry seeks power through the rationing of energy!

As someone currently living in a PA coal region, I don’t think it will have that much an impact for a couple reasons: 1) The coal regions usually vote Republican anyway. 2) The coal industry, as well as coal towns, have been dying a slow death the last few decades. 3) There isn’t a very significant portion of the state’s population that still works in the coal industry.

McCain needs more votes from the Pittsburgh area and southeast portion of the state.
