Pajamas Media In Wired

Wired has an article up today about Pajamas Media, the blogging portal venture I’m taking part in.
Its pretty interesting, but one thing I’d note is the article claims that bloggers will have “limited” control over ads that appear on their websites. According to the contract I signed, I have veto power over any ad that appears here.

    Rob,

I went and looked at your profile and it isn’t all bad. I actually had no idea that you were as young as the picture they had would indicate. For some reason I had you picked at about 60.

Now, What the heck is this pajamas media all about?

    Sixty!

Jeez man…that’s only…thirty five years off.

    You make me feel old.

What the heck is this pajamas media all about?

Well, it’s sort of two things. For one, its an advertising network. I have signed over exclusive advertising rights for this blog to PJ Media. Eventually the ads you see here now will disappear and be replaced by ads served from them.

The other thing they are is a web portal. PJ Media also has the non-exclusive right to re-publish some of my content on their own website.

In exchange for this I get money and references to this blog from their portal site, etc. They don’t have any editorial control over what I write (though they retain the right to terminate our contract should I start writing neo-nazi propaganda or something) and I have veto power over all ads showing up here (I also retain the right to terminate our contract).
