Oprah: Palin Snubbed Me

Oprah is claiming that Sarah Palin snubbed her to do an interview with Fox News’ Great Van Susteren:

Of course, remember that Oprah snubbed Palin during the campaign. The Drudge Report floated rumors back during the election that Oprah wasn’t going to allow Sarah on her show. Oprah tried to squash the rumors saying that she wasn’t going to use her show for a political platform and that she’d be happy to have Sarah on after the election:

OPRAH’S STATEMENT: “The item in today’s Drudge Report is categorically untrue. There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this Presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over.”

Of course, Oprah wasn’t concerned about her show becoming a political platform when she had Obama on.

So what’s going on here? If Oprah is suggesting that she tried to get Sarah on during the campaign she’s lying.
If she’s saying that Sarah snubbed her by not coming on after the election…well…who can blame her? Oprah was in the tank for Obama throughout the election, so why should Palin give Oprah a booking now?

The people Oprah sides with did everything thing they could to destroy Sarah Palin. They mocked her, and tried to assassinate her character. They did this not just to guarantee their Massiah’s victory, but to intimidate others who might think of opposing their hard left agenda in the future.

That was the side Oprah backed, and now she wants Palin to come on her show an do the whole fake-hug/side kiss like their old friends. That’s BS. The only reason Oprah is even talking about this is so she can try to hurt Palin a little more.

    Right!

There’s nothing that burns me up more than someone being attacked unfairly. I don’t care if it’s myself, President Bush, Palin, etc. who is attacked … Only self-serving, ego-maniacss have it within themselves to do that. Total lack of character and integrity. And, I am not impressed by money or stature … I AM impressed by people who objectively fair. The only thing I EVER see from the liberal democrats, those in the public and those I know personally, is HYPOCRISY.

If you read the whole thread you will see I said I listened to her on radio, watched the show, and read the mag. I don’t like the way she is always denegrating white people. Maybe you should listen to some of the radio clips. She was terrible on there. She does not like white people, in my opinion. I used to think she was o.k., in the 80′s, when she first started, but I find all that blacks are better than whites talk just as disgusting as I find the whites are better than blacks talk. I don’t like anyone who is biased against people of any color. Sorry, but I subscribe to equality for all colors.

I tried that Google thing Bob told me to try and it seems you can find a lot of opinions on this. I googled Oprah and racistand got:

SHIRLEY A.BAYLOR (caps quoted) makes this point:

When you have your own show, you too can have anyone on you want and decline to have those who do not appeal to you. The choice is yours, so don’t be so jealous of those who have the money to make their own choices, even if you do not agree with that choice. Yankees need to learn to respect others, which is a very hard thing for Americans to accept.

    SHIRLEY A. BAYLOR on December

Shirley should also remember this….the mere fact of having the money or luck or, in rare cases, the talent to have your own show does not insulate you from observational criticism.

And as far as that whole respect for others thing that we Yamkees need to learn (I’m assuming that this came from somewhere offshore and that “Yankee” is a blanket term including all Americans) well, it’s not the rank and file Yankees that lack this, Madam. It’s the elitist hulks who occupy the chairs of talk shows and television anchors and who wouldn’t speak to Palin or slammed her when she was a candidate, and who actively endorsed or supported Obama and his behing the guise of imapartiality, and who now want to play nice.

I hope Palin never crosses her door.

    Hi, Di ~
Right – except for my very own sister. She watches Oprah daily and records the show when she’s not home! Aaauughh! I did convince her to vote for McCain this last election, but I’m continually at odds with my Sis over politics. She’s a liberal at heart, which is unbelievable because her blue collar husband owns a hardwood flooring company (started out on his hands and knees) has made millions, I said MILLIONS, every year of the last EIGHT. His prosperity started when he began his own small business. The only reason she voted for McCain this time round was because I told her that Obama wanted to go into her husband’s place of business and take some of his profit to give to some of his competitors who weren’t doing quite as well. To hit her with something personal and direct was the only way to have convinced her (as is the way with most liberals, then they grow a brain and turn conservative).

By the way, I know exactly where you live! We come to Chateau Elan a lot – usually to meet friends at the Irish pub or for a parties! Wow. We’re a little more north than you … up on Lake Lanier. Wow.

    Sparkie,

Don’t call Sarah a bitch. You don’t know her. You can diagree with her polictics all you want but what gives you the right to attack her character?

Shame on you! How old are you, 12? How do you know she is a bitch? Ever been around her? What do you really know about her? If you really want to know I would be happy to tell you all about her. I would love to share what type of person she is and you would be so ashamed of yourself. She is my friend and a wonderful role model for my daughter and not because of the politics.

What is with you people? Why can’t anybody have discussions without being so cruel and vindictive? Maybe I should just stop reading this blog. I am so very proud of my brother but I think I need to find another site that isn’t so vicious and vile. (And where the heck’s the spell check?)

What’s with all these “lucked upon” and “fortunate” comments? Unless someone was born with inherited wealth, at some point in their lives they had to have taken a chance, worked hard, or sacrificed something to get where they are. These people didn’t trip and fall into success. As much as I despise Oprah as a human being, I must respect her entrepreneurial spirit. Same goes for you di butler. I agree with your posts except for the fact that you are “fortunate”. I don’t think you got to where you are in life by accident…I think you worked hard.

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

Having Palin on would be a big boost to her ratings (as it would have been during the campaign). I don’t blame Palin for not wanting to line the pockets of someone as obviously partisan as Winfrey, since the benefit would clearly be one-way.

    Alterior motive?

Possibly she did alienate quite a bit of her women wacthers, an to get them back, she has to act like it is not Oprah that snubbed Sarah, but Sarah herself that snubbed Oprah.

That way, she is off the hook.

  • http://www.kogmedia.com/ Patrick

Oprah and Palin should be able to like whoever they want to like, too bad public scrutiny makes such a decision more complicated for them than it otherwise would be for an average person

  • http://www.twitter.com/OneAndOnlyZel QueenZel

MILLIONS of people wrote to Oprah asking her to put Palin on the show. She has alienated millions over this. Most of whom were aware that she DID have Obama on the show. So, if she wants to just have on who she wants to have on, no regard for HALF of the public, then she can keep going until she has a private show.

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

3 years ago the racist showed up to a Paris store after it was closed and demanded to be catered to. When the store was unable to comply they accused her of doing so because they were racist.

I call someone who acts like that a racist.

Harpo Productions spokeswoman Michelle McIntyre said Winfrey “will discuss her ‘crash moment’ when her show returns from hiatus in September.”

“Crash” is a film dealing with race relations. The phrase “crash moment” refers to situations where a party feels discriminated against on the basis of skin color.

The New York Daily News cited sources close to Winfrey as saying the talk show host was first rebuffed by a clerk and then a store manager. The Daily News reported Winfrey had gone to the store to buy a watch for singer Tina Turner, her dining partner that night.

  • SHIRLEY A. BAYLOR

Oprah’s show is as good or better than most. I have watched it a few times and don’t watch a lot of talk shows because they have a lot of discussions about things that do not interest me. As for her being bias, she is not. She has what appeals to most people who watch her (millions), she is on prime TV, very rich and produces her own show. The woman is no dummy and regardless of who does or does not like her, she has a lot of leverage.

Oprah is now playing the victim card. What a farce. I would not go on her show, nor the view, nor quite a few. I have seen numerous times how the media selectively broadcasts interviews. In some cases, it is a bold faced lie with cutting and pasting selected parts.

“Okra- Wimfee” chose to freeze out Gov.Palin and now purports surprise that Gov. Sarah refuses to attend court with “Queen Wimfee”? Can you say back-fire? It would be nothing but another “sniper shoot” for the media anyway.

“Okra” is just a pompous, lib, gas-bag. She was a Chicago area special reporter until she rode the coat-tails of “Affirmative Action” to the top….

Her “self-loathing“, “white-guilt“, “victim mentality“, audiences fawn at her every word, therefore having B-O on the show was of value to his campaign. By refusing Gov. Palin the same venue she also gave benefit to the B-O campaign.

    Ellinas,

Uh, that’s not my post, sorry. I don’t think she came in to being through magic. I actually think she did “luck” up to some degree. She was working her job, well I would guess, and then she got more opportunities for a larger audience, and this happened a couple of times, and she “lucked” up by catching someone important’s eye, thereby being offered her own show. Like I said when I was referring to myself. She has been fortunate. Unfortunately, for me, she found the fortune. LOL. Usually for people in her position it is a combo of things, luck, hard work, and being in the right place/time. She happened to come along when there was a void of daytime talkshows and she caught on, big time. If you read my posts, then you will see that I said I watched her on occasion back when she first came out. i just don’t care for what she evolved into.

She did n’t need him on the show after he announced, she was the one who “built” him in the first place. She had him on when he was a nobody to promote his first book, then when he got his Senate seat, then when his 2nd book came out. That is a lot of exposure for him to start with. She is down about 3 million viewers, but she still draws about 6 mil, so she reaches a lot of people.

    Oprah chose sides.

The people she sided with tried to completely destroy Sarah Palin in numerous ways:

    1. They made up lies about her baby actually bing her teenage daughter.

    2. They compared her looks to that of porno actresses.

    3. They posted nude photos on the internet and said it was Palin.

    4. The said she was stupid.

    5. They repeatedly portrayed her as stupid in TV skits.

    6. They even made porno movies about her.

    7. They accused her of cheating on her husband.

    8. They tried to make her daughter’s pregnancy into a national scandal.

    9. The continuously repeated the lie that she was some kind of book burner, even though that was provel a lie early on.

The people Oprah sides with did everything thing they could to destroy Sarah Palin. They mocked her, and tried to assassinate her character. They did this not just to guarantee their Massiah’s victory, but to intimidate others who might think of opposing their hard left agenda in the future.
