On Giants And Underdogs

From a comment in the Super Bowl open thread:

On another blog, someone said that the Giants’ win reminded them that McCain isn’t our candidate yet, and that Hillary isn’t inevitable; anything is possible.

I like it.

Me too.

ZOGBY HAS ROMNEY +8 IN CALIFORNIA:

“Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, led McCain 40 percent to 32 percent in California, where the margin of error was 3.3 percentage points. A win in California, the most populous state, could help puncture McCain’s growing momentum in the Republican nomination fight.

McCain won the last two contests, in South Carolina and Florida, to seize the front-runner’s slot in a hard-fought Republican race despite qualms among some conservatives about his past views on taxes, immigration and campaign finance.

“Romney is widening his lead in California and has a really big advantage with conservatives,” Zogby said. “Romney winning California would give some Republicans pause when they look at McCain as the potential nominee.”

CONCLUSION:
Pick a poll any poll.  Who knows at this point?  I obviously like these CA results, but Rasmussen shows it much closer in MO than Zogby does.

I do sense momentum to Romney though.

If it becomes clear Romney will win CA (and the MSM doesn’t bury this poll), other states may start trending towards him.

WHAT THIS REMINDS ME OF:
Shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, Imperial Japanese Navy Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto said, “We have wakened a sleeping giant and filled him with terrible resolve.”

Yup, I’m feelin that…

ZOGBY HAS ROMNEY +8 IN CALIFORNIA:

And the most recent Field poll has McCain over Romney 32 percent to 24 percent. let me see...that’s eight!
Give the polls a rest, troll!

Those who think the party or the country, will be “taught a lesson” by handing the levers of power over to the liberals will learn a lesson, but it will be at the expense of our country and her liberties. And there are no guarantees that the party or the country will come out stronger, more conservative or better positioned to win elections against the incumbent liberals.

I’m not sure who to root for here. I’d almost like Romney to win so people would quit whining, but i figure they’ll wake up and remember things like Romney’s stance on gun control and decide he’s actually worse than McCain, or at the least no better.

It’s interesting that before the recent campaign, where Romney has sort of restated a lot of his positions, Romney was the person you saw frequently labeled a RINO, not McCain.

They are right, McCain was the underdog of underdogs.  His victory will be sweet!

I find this morning after a great Super Bowl game that actually lived up to all its hype. Where the underdog won, where great defense did not produce a boring game, with a GREAT late catch kept the game winning drive going, where a cheating ass coach got what he deserved – I find a desire for more Adriana Lima. Call crazy but…
