Oil Is Making Millionaires In North Dakota

Good news for the state’s economy, too be sure.

Meanwhile, one of the Senators who allegedly represents the interests of these North Dakotans benefiting from the oil boom (it’s not just the land owners, the oil companies have hired so many North Dakotans that other businesses are having a hard time staffing their positions) wants to punish the oil companies that are making North Dakotans rich with massive new taxes.

Byron Dorgan: North Dakota’s Senator, or an out-of-state liberal who just claims to be from North Dakota?

“I am very angry, frankly, at the oil companies,” presumptive Republican nominee, Senator John McCain (R., Ariz.) said June 12. “Not only because of the obscene profits they’ve made, but their failure to invest in alternative energy to help us eliminate our dependence on foreign oil.”

Well, guess what pal, there wont be much difference between the two. But even at that I doubt that Exxon Mobil would quit pumping oil if they had to pay more tax. By the way do you really think that Exxon’s CEO really deserves 25.8 million dollars a year? Check this and tell me what you think. http://www.forbes.com/static/pvp2005/LIRUZ74.html

Buzz - you’re an idiot.  I can’t sugarcoat it, you’re an idiot.  You are ignoring the fact that list says he’s #44 in executive pay.  Do you know how many of your liberal causes CEO’s are paid a hell of a lot more, for performing less?  Here are a few:

Howard D. Schultz
Starbucks
One-year total compensation: $98.6 million

Angelo Mozilo
Countrywide Financial (friend of Senator Kent Conrad who is trying to make Mozilo even wealthier with our tax $$)
Total Compensation
$102.84 5 mil

Nabeel Gareeb
Electronic Arts (gaming, soon to be creator of GTA)
Total Compensation $79.56M

Again, those are just a few, if you make me dig out more I can.  But to complain about what Oil execs make is STUPID when tons of CEO’s are making more for less return.  Also, if I have to I’ll pull out my stats showing that GOOGLE profit as a % of revenue far exceeds ANY Oil companies.  Stop complaining.

I came here to post about ND Millionaires and read Buzz’s post and had to go get the data to show him he’s a turd.

So, back to North Dakota millionaires, the nice thing about a nice harmless ND millionaire (I mean other than a few Democratic ND Millionaire Senators with ocean front property) is that they have no interest in killing anyone, unlike a few Saudi Oil millionaires. I’d much rather the oil be in a North Dakotan’s pocket.  I loved the way the woman said “We put our kids through college without any oil money.”

Has anyone checked how much oil is under that thing on Byron’s head?

Hmmm, looks like most of American companies are making good money, so why are we giving them even more tax breaks again?

America needs to hurry up and make alternative energy the way to go

How much are Americans willing to lower their standard of living to bring that about?
