Oh, Good….The Eight Year Old Suicide Bomber Was Actually Sixteen

Whew. I feel better about the whole thing now:

US soldiers originally said an eight-year-old girl was used in the attack, which took place near Youssifiyah, south of the capital, Baghdad.

But the US army now believes the girl was around 16-years-old.

After all, what self respecting group of homicidal mass murdering lunatic barbarian seventh century troglodytes would use an eight year old girl when they could use a sixteen girl year old instead to kill people?

That would be.....uncivilized. Wouldn’t it?

The real point is did she do it willingly? Or was she remote fired? Many examples of terrorists doing the remote detonation method. In carbombs it is easy to use unsuspecting dupes to deliver. With bomb vest shots it is a bit harder. There are at least 3 cases of the use of mentally retarded people in remote shots.

Are they, in fact, using younger, willing volunteers? Or coercing adolescents through threats and physical attacks against mothers and siblings? The willing martyr is nae impossible to stop. The coerced participant is a clear sign of an operation in collapse.

The very crux of the matter.

Hotel:

You hit it. If I were a betting man I’d bet that she was coerced in some form or fashion to do this - and maybe even mentally disabled.

There are no depths too low for those animals.

The willing are usually remotely fired.  As the moment of decision approaches rationality tries to intrude and screw things up.  A handler keeps an eye on the recruit and usually has to predetinate because nimrod decides this is too much stress and wigs out.

Our side has done research into it and it was generally a combination of willing then coerced.  Haven’t seen any recent reports and nothing on this one in particular.
