Officials Find Explosives, Iraqi Cash In Car In New Mexico

But it’s not related to terrorism, says the FBI.

The FBI is now involved in the theft of a car after it was found in Los Lunas with an explosive device and Iraqi currency inside.

FBI agents say that they have ruled out terrorism

The car was reported stolen last week. After the theft, the car’s owner was fueling his motorcycle when he spotted his stolen car.

“While he was refueling his motorcycle, low and behold, the vehicle that he had reported stolen that belongs to him happened to pull into the gas station area also,” said Los Lunas Police Captain Charles Nuanes.

The car’s owner pulled the keys out of the ignition of his stolen car and the people in the car fled.

When police arrived, they found the explosive device and less than $1,000 worth of Iraqi cash.

How in the world did they rule out the possibility of a terrorist plot?

Wait… where is the description of the fleeing criminals?

Terrorists in New Mexico! Impossible, they can’t get across the border.

lol, good point richNJ.

A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.

Los Lunas is about 30 minutes from our place.

The police there might be able to find the station house if they’re given adequate directions from a passing tourist.

If you’ve ever been in central and southern NM, you’d realize what a real problem this could be. New Mexico is the fifth largest state in the US, with the bulk of the population contained in one city. The landscape is very similar to Iraq, and the some of the largest counties (similar in size to New Jersey) have one or two officers serving the entire county.

It is an ideal place for someone or a group of people to set up clandestine operations and never be bothered.
