Obama’s Words On Health Care Don’t Match What’s In The Health Care Bill

Maybe somebody should report Obama for spreading “fishy” rumors about the health care bill:

Nice, Dino. So, just because we all agree that health care is expensive, we should all just fall in line behind the first bill that Teh Nanny-crats can pull over on the masses?

    Without debate?

    Reporting all dissenters as “fishy”?

    Disregarding alternatives?

    Ignoring Cost Estimates?

    No. We are not…

cool with health care just as it is

But, at least some of us realize there is a vast difference between:
    (1) emotional and reactionary responses that would hand control of our well-being to the federal gubmint — who, by the way, just so happens to be a group of ideological opponents, not to mention abject morons who can’t even manage Cash for Clunkers, Social Security, and others);

    and

    (2) taking the time to work out something much better than letting O’Nanny handle it — which, incidentally, does NOT involve handing control of my money, my health, and my life over to the gubmint.

Gee, now why wouldn’t I want option #1? Can’t for the life of me grasp the negative side of putting your health in the care of political opponents.

Just once I would like to see a reporter ask a pulic question to him why his talk never matches the fine print in the bills.

    I sure miss Bill Clinton.

  • FlyOnTheWall

    I sure miss Bill Clinton.

Me too. Even the grimy past seems less sordid than what we have now.

“How to Serve the Health Care Industry”

  • Jay Lee

A couple of days age NPR actually had something interesting to say about the health care debate. They discussed the plan that the state of Texas passed a few years ago. That plan introduced liability caps, limits on lawyers fees and made it harder to sue doctors over honest problems (not negligence). The results were lower health care costs and more doctors moving to Texas. If the President really wants public support on reform, lets start with these and some improvements in record keeping. If that works maybe then we can have a discussion about additional ideas.

The problem is Democrats don’t want to “fix” healthcare, they just want to use it to gain control over people’s lives.

  • FlyOnTheWall

The results were lower health care costs and more doctors moving to Texas.

I’ve not seen any proposed changes that would lower cost. (Don’t joke about the national healthcare database saving 20 quadrillions dollars.) Any talk of other options is unpatriotic and partisan.

Republicans have failed by not leading the last few years. They took power and did little beyond take power. Now the democrats are doing it but crap, when they do a power grab they shoot for the moon. (Metaphorically speaking. They seem to be against the sciency stuff.)

Not only does Texas have the most expensive place in the country for health care, that cesspool state has the highest percentage of uninsured.

What a Texas town can teach us about health care

McAllen has another distinction, too: it is one of the most expensive health-care markets in the country. Only Miami–which has much higher labor and living costs–spends more per person on health care. In 2006, Medicare spent fifteen thousand dollars per enrollee here, almost twice the national average. The income per capita is twelve thousand dollars. In other words, Medicare spends three thousand dollars more per person here than the average person earns.

Texas Leads the Nation in Uninsured

Already known for a decade as consistently fielding the largest population of uninsured people in the country, Texas is facing a health insurance crisis now being exacerbated by the economic downturn, forcing more working folks to lose coverage.

Nearly 6 million Texans–about one-fourth of the state’s population–had no health insurance in 2007, according to a U.S. Census Bureau report. But a study by Families USA, a national nonprofit organization advocating for health reform, claimed that 9.3 million people in Texas lived without coverage for at least one month during 2007 and 2008.

Whoa! We’re talking health care reform and you subject jumped to the horrible problem Texas has with illegal immigration!
