Obama’s Popularity Plummets – Among White Women

Boy, this is a turn around from the days when they fainted at the mere sound of his voice, dropping like flies at his feet. Actually, I still think much of that whole thing was staged in the same way George Martin cleverly staged the early fainting fans of the Beatles. It worked, too. In both cases.
But, some of the magic seems to have faded:

Barack Obama’s favorability ratings among white women has declined significantly in recent months, particularly among Democrats and independents, presenting an immediate obstacle for the likely Democratic nominee as he moves to shore up his party’s base.
According to a new report by The Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, half of white women now have a negative perception of Obama.
Forty-nine percent of white women view Obama unfavorably, while only 43 percent hold a favorable opinion. In February, 36 percent of these women viewed Obama unfavorably, while 56 percent had a positive perception of the likely Democratic nominee.
Over the same period, Democratic white women’s negative view of Obama increased from 21 percent to 35 percent, while their positive view decreased from 72 percent to 60 percent — roughly the same rate as white women overall.

So…what happened?
Why the sudden drastic drop in the numbers? Is it (A) because women are flocking the Hillary’s banner in a show of solidarity? Is it (B) because women aren’t getting Obama’s message? Or is it (C) because women are starting to recognize the fact that their new messiah is an empty suit that’s good with rhetoric and slogans and little else, and who has some very shady past and present acquaintances and who is basically about as deep as your front yard bird bath?
I pick “C”.
This isn’t the end of people drifting away from Obama, either. As time goes on and he continues committing blunder after blunder and showing over and over again that he ain’t the sharpest tool in the shed, his flock will become more and more disillusioned with him. Familiarity, after all, breeds contempt.
And Obama is starting to show that he is, in fact, somewhat contemptible.
Seen any fainting lately?

Ever sense the suffrage movement the women’s vote has been traditionally sympathetic towards social issues reflected more on the Democrat side of the political arena. So, to witness a gender rejection for a candidate that appears to have the nod from his party managers is quite revealing indeed. Hillary’s recent boost in the primaries is having some impact on the race. She stumbled along the way by her own accord and if anything she proved that she isn’t necessarily any more qualified for the position than Obama. With partisan politics being what it is that fact is irrelevant to the loyal Democrat voters. As for Obama, the more we see the less there is. The exalted one has no clothing.

So, what else is new with our presidential frontrunner? You know, the person leading all the polls? The person more Americans want as President than anyone else?

    You suffer from cognitive dissonance.

Barry O is just another product of the Chicago political machine.
There’s no “change”, just the same old, same old.

Hopefully people will come to there senses when they go to vote! Todd, What makes you like Obama so much? The racist company he keeps? His ‘Hope” for the USA to become a Socialist Society? His smooth talking promises for Everyone?

    Mickey:

    You explain the poll.

Despite a drop in support among one subsection of Americans (caucasian females), Barack Obama is still America’s top choice for President. He is leading in the polls, as he has been for the past several months.

I thought we were talking about Obama here.

The “polls” do not determine the big picture.

Particularly appropriate comment in a post about the latest poll results!!!

If todd wants to know what’s new with Obama, it’s apparently a problem distinguishing fantasy from reality!

MOUNT RUSHMORE NATIONAL MEMORIAL, S.D. (AP) — Democrat Barack Obama paid an unscheduled late-night visit to Mount Rushmore Friday, visiting the national memorial at closing time and joking that his ears were too big to ever be included in such a display.
…He did express curiosity about the filming of a chase scene in “North by Northwest,” Alfred Hitchcock’s 1959 classic starring Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint that included a death-defying scramble over Rushmore’s presidential faces.

“How did they get up there in the first place?” he asked ranger Wesley Jensen.

“They didn’t. It was a movie set,” Jensen told him.

I guess the whole “jungle fever” thing isn’t working for Barack; maybe it’s because he bowls like a girl…who knows?

    todd,

The “polls” do not determine the big picture.
Bill Clinton governed by the polls and he ended up getting impeached. Gore tried to run a campaign directed by polls and he ended up in Baskin Robbins feeding his funk with double chocolate fudge. John Kerry tried to claim the polls would make him the president and his liabilities were exposed. Obama is just another Jimmy Carter. We have been there and done that. Obama doesn’t have the majority of Democrats supporting him so how could he have the majority of Americans supporting him?

todd, A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

  • Mickey

Todd, well what is it then? Is Obama favored by the majority as you believe (EXCEPT for women, and 49% of the other democrats who apparently are not part of the majority in this poll) OR is he not. You explain the poll.

Could it be that people are actually seeing his true self? Anyone who would affiliate himself with a church like his for over 20 years has some real issues! Obama at first sight is smooth. BUT look a little further and he lacks the knowledge and skills to lead this country. Imagine who his cabinet would consist of? He hasn’t made the best personal choices as far as affiliation. I don’t trust him to make those choices for the rest of US.

TRUST IN HILLARY’S GOVERNMENTAL EXPERIENCE ADVANTAGE

There were so many wonderful achievements: Whitewater, Cattle Futuregate, Travelgate, Gennifer Flowersgate, Filegate, Vince Fostergate, Whitewater Billing Recordsgate, Paula Jonesgate, Federal Building Campaign Phone Callsgate, Lincoln Bedroom Gate, Donations from Convicted Drug and Weapons Dealersgate, Buddhist Templegate, Lippogate, Chinagate, Lewinsky Affair, Perjury and Jobs for Lewinskygate, Willeygate, Web Hubbell Prison Phone Callgate, Selling Military Technology to the Chinesegate, Wag the Doggate, Juanita, Broaddrick Gate, Vandalgate, Lootergate, and Pardongate. And there is that long list of staff that either committed suicide, were murdered, or mysteriously died.

Mexico for amnesty, Israel for military protection, China for military secrets, and lobbies for corrupt contracts; all desperately need the Neo-Lib Puppet Princess Hillary for president; but what the American People desperately need is strict Constitutional Law, and the Reagan Republicans and Kennedy Democrats fighting shoulder-to-shoulder against the Neo-Cons/Neo-Libs (Neo-Marxists) that have infiltrated the Republican and Democrat parties, and have ideologically corrupted the traditional American culture.

That could be why he’s the Presidential frontrunner. I’m not sure.
