Obama’s October Deficit Is Larger Than the Deficit in the Entire Year of the Last Republican Budget

Obama calls for budget passage in Washington

The last all Republic Budget was the fiscal year 2007 budget. That means it was passed by a Republican Congress And Signed by a Republican President. The deficit that year was 160 Billion dollars.
Remember how the Democrats like Kent Conrad decried that figure. He said it was so bad that he needed to be put in charge of the US budget. Well the political gods have a sick sense of humor and did just that.
Now the 100% Democrat October deficit is 10% larger than what it took all year to accumulate in FY 2007.

WASHINGTON — The federal government kicked off fiscal year 2010 by posting its widest-ever October budget deficit, the Treasury Department said Thursday.
The $176.36 billion gap is more than $20 billion wider than the shortfall recorded in October 2008, driven up by lower tax receipts, stimulus-related revenue reductions and consistently high government outlays.
Treasury’s monthly budget statement shows receipts were $135.33 billion in October, down 18% from a year earlier and at the lowest level since October 2002. Meanwhile, outlays were $311.69 billion, down 3% from a year earlier and at their second-highest monthly level on record.

And still the Democrats continue on making things worse in their desperate attempt to wreck everything they haven’t yet wrecked. The Democrats are still trying to jam health care reform and the tax cap and trade job killer through. Today’s Democrats are going down as the worst government in US history.
Meanwhile they’ve managed to raise unemployment over 12% (or over 16% depending which figure you use).

LOL, leave it to Dino to come on here and bleed on us cause he’s pissed that his president is such an incompetent boob.

Of course he should be pissed off that Obama sucks rats *ss so badly. So should we all.

Sux for him that he has to blame his own party’s failures on people who didn’t vote for the fart-mongers that are in office now.

Beyond that… truthfully Dino, I don’t give a flying f**k what you think about anything. I happen to think you are one of the dumbest, angriest idiotic misanthropes on the face of the planet.

And you aren’t in big company, you even disgust the liberals on this blog…

I don’t say “fellow liberal” because you are no more a liberal than you are flying rabbit. I guess the fact that nobody in the world identifies with your idiotic spews just makes you that much more angry doesn’t it?

    LOL

Dino – I have stopped being amazed at what an ignorant, walking cliche, and koolaid drinker you are. You are just the perfect example of what the Dem/Libs are – Liars willing to do anything to further the marxist agenda. You would be much happier living in Cuba or North Korea. The policies you desire are already implemented there. If you ever want to go, I bet many people on this blog site would contribute to help out. That is much better than you having to give Obama a Lewinsky to get the government to fund it. Don’t you know any other songs -Bush’s fault, Conservatives are evil, why didn’t you do something. The Dem/Libs have control of the Congress and White house -Shut the f#ck up and commit suicide already. Obama’s agenda will cost big time in the next election. Thats why the Dem/Libs are struggling to get marxism installed in the USA. Vulnerable Dems know is will be a career ender. Obama will be a Lame duck president after the 2010 election and Pelosi and Reid are willing to lose majority to get the Marxist agenda advanced now. I hope the Dems on the fence realize they are pawns to be sacrificed. It is time for the real Dems to stand up to the Marxists that have ascended to power. The marxists might make the most noise but they are only minority fringe in the party and the country. Openly declare your Marxist agenda and see what happens. This would explain why the Democrap party has become a synonym for lies and deceit. Dem/Libs cannot be honest -It may well be the cause of another American Revolution. We will not go quietly into that good night. Give me Liberty or Give me Death.

Democrat policies got us into the bad economy. Now they’re making them
    worse.

That includes their massive spending plans that are keeping the private
    sector from recovering.

No doubt about it DINO, Republicans are just as addicted to PORK as the Democrats are. Both houses need to be cleaned and true Fiscal Conservatives need to be put in congress and the WH.

The fact that Republicans failed to put the excess money back into the deficit does not change the fact that cutting taxes DOES increase revenue to the Federal Government AND it allows businesses to create jobs, jobs which in return generate more revenue. Tax and Spend is not the way out of a “depression” as you call it. Neither is Borrow and Spend.

The only way to put this country back on the right track is to lower taxes, increase revenues, and reduce spending to reduce the deficit and eventually begin paying down the debt.

You also fail to recognize the ColdWar and the War on Terror as money sinks for Reagan and GW Bush administrations. Even cutting all social programs would not have made up for the price tags of war. Maybe you wish to argue about going to war with Russia or with Iraq/Afgahnistan but I don’t. For the purpose of this argument it need only be pointed out that war has a cost and you MUST remember that when you compare administration deficits.

Oh, and something to help even more than cutting taxes… http://www.fairtax.org

The financial meltdown started in the housing industry from inappropriate
    social engineering.

I noticed the picture with comrade conrad with obama trying to shore up his fiscal hawk image so that lap dog democraps can have something to lay their tonges on. Just remmember this in 2012. If Dorken wasn’t up for re-election he would be hugging oboma for the job he is doing, as at one time he had the distintion of being the #2 anti business senator before kennedy expired

  • sayanything-3430

Congrats to Mr. Obama, Mr. Reid, and Ms. Pelosi, Ms. Pomeroy, and Ms. Frank for destroying America’s economy. What a joke.

  • brain trust

No words of criticism over the deficit from our budget committee chair(Conrad) like there was when W was president. What a partisan hack!

  • sayanything-9974

They would rather suffer and live free than live as slaves of the state.

  • sayanything-4808

People forgot to ask about the rest of the Obama slogan.

“Yes we can screw up things worse than Bush!”

  • sayanything-4416

C’mon, you could at least trot out the old Fannie & Freddie thing!

I have to go now but you formulate your response on how the minority party for most of the last decade created policies. Then you can tell us why the party that controlled everything couldn’t stop it.

I’ll look for your response tonight.

This is why I laugh when I think about what giving back control to republicans will do to your kids and grandkids’ futures. They’re already greatly diminished.

  • sayanything-4416

And you demonstrate that you don’t know a curve has two sides.

But your kids are f*cked, not mine.

  • sayanything-4416

Well, elaborate, Whistler. Tell us what those democratic policies were, when they were passed and what democrats introduced them. Tell us who ran the country from 2001 to 2007 when the crash began. Tell us what those who ran the country during that period did to balance the budget or control spending. Tell us how those in power tried to head off the crash or what they did to prevent it.

C’mon. You can do it. Maybe you can convince yourself that it’s 1993 and republicans didn’t have control of the country.

  • sayanything-4416

Oh! Now I get it! The conservatives who ran the country for the last 30 years weren’t “REAL” conservatives!

Russ, are you a “REAL” conservative? Were you a “REAL” conservative when you bought a house you couldn’t afford and stuck the rest of us with your default?

It is NOT a fact that cutting taxes always increases revenue. Like all formulas, the Laffer curve you people are so enamored with has two sides. We are on the LEFT of it, the point where revenues do NOT increase with more cuts. We’ve been on that side for a long time. Reagan’s trick was a one-time trick and even he doubled the debt for cutting too much.

The Cold War? LOL, so reagan was the only one to deal with that? Are you also going to tell me that bush needed to spend an additional $5 TRILLION on Homeland Security besides the enormous amounts already slated to be spent on defense? Nice excuses.

But if you can excuse reagan and bush, how come the spending now to rescue the economy isn’t worthy? The republican Depression of 2008 had a much, much larger impact that 9/11. It was like 10 9/11s.

You people just think you’re going to come up with that unicorn of economies: a no-tax Utopia that you read about in an Ayn Rand book.

Tell the kids I said good luck paying off that republican debt. We know neither party will collect it from the rich.

  • sayanything-2361

A lot of things hit. I don’t think our bad housing policy brought down the rest of the world, it just made ours worse.

My conversion to fairtax started with a baby while finishing college broke and looking at my after tax paycheck. My liberal self made a U turn there.

  • sayanything-4416

I’ll say it again: spending always rises with a growing country. So do tax receipts. Spending rises even more in a Depression like the one we got from decades of conservative rule.

If conservative tax-cutting worked we wouldn’t have seen a doubling of the debt under reagan and bush 43.

The bottom line is that the promise of conservative fiscal and economic policy never materialized and the deficits are a result of that failure.

  • sayanything-4416

I wouldn’t miss seeing your kids and grandkids suffer for anything in the world. And that’s exactly what’s going to happen.

    Do enjoy!

  • sayanything-4416

Oh Look! Whistler has been swapping spit with Robert108!

  • sayanything-4416

And that baby will have an even more dismal future thanks to conservatism.

  • sayanything-1317

Dino trots out his tired lies.

We had 30 years of conservative rule! Despite the fact that Republicans have only had control of the Congress for 10 of those supposed 30 years, and only 4 with a Republican President. But whatever. It’s a nifty lie for leftist parties.

And, despite the tax cuts, the revenues went up to to unimaginable growth in the economy…that was in no way brought about by the tax cuts.

    What a schmuck.

  • bikebubba

Dino once again does a great job of demonstrating to the world that he has no idea that an accounting spreadsheet has both a “revenue” and “expense” side. Obviously all those people declaring bankruptcy because of credit card debt merely have an income problem. Nothing to do with that new 42″ plasma TV in the living room, or that vacation in the Bahamas. Nosirree….

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

Federal tax receipts went up after the Bush tax cuts. The problem was that spending went up faster.

Our problem is not a revenue problem. It is a spending problem.

  • sayanything-4416

But I thought all that tax cutting of the bush years was going to have us swimming in cash?

Why don’t you tell us what part of Obama’s budget created the deficit? (Hint: It’s a trick question.)

Why don’t you simply tell us what the origins of the deficit are?
