Obama’s New Era Of Responsiblity?

Obama has been making a lot of noise about ushering in a “new era of responsibility.” And yet, I look at his performance since getting elected and I can’t help but ask: What responsibility is Obama taking?
For instance, look at the Blagojevich scandal. It’s clear to any honest observer that, while they weren’t quite playing the quid pro quo game with him, Obama and/or members of his staff knew full well that Rod Blagojevich was trying to sell Obama’s old Senate seat to the highest bidder and not one of them raised a finger to alert federal authorities.
Where’s the responsibility for that?
Since coming onto the national stage a few years ago a bevy of Obama’s close friends and associates have also come onto the national stage in disgrace and scandal. Ayers. Rezko. Wright. Obama’s FTC pick Bill Richardson, who had to resign after shady connections to a public works contractor came to light.
When is Obama going to take responsibility for a long history of bad judgment?
And then there’s Obama’s pick to run the IRS, Timothy Geithner. A man for whom the complexities of Turbo Tax are apparently overwhelming. Obama is still backing this man to be in charge of the Nation’s checkbook, so to say, and yet he has in his past a history of multiple instances of tax evasion totaling tens of thousands in unpaid taxes.
Who is going to take responsibility for that?
Personally, I’d be a whole lot more satisfied with Obama if he’d realize that words are more than just pretty sounding things to utter when convenient. They mean things too, and if you’re going to call for responsibility how about displaying the courage of your own convictions?

    my letter to my senator,

I am contacting you concerning the nomination and seating of the U.S. Treasury Secretary position soon to be confirmed by the senate.

I’m not convinced President Obama has selected the right person for the job. When finding people to fill these positions, there should be a criteria followed as to one who has his own affairs in order to lead our nation and be a good example for others to follow. Timothy Geithner, is a poor choice for this position due to his lack of responsibility to pay his own personal taxes. The person selected for this position, should be able to set a good example and hold a high standard for others to follow when collecting taxes from others.

I hope you will see this as a red flag when voting to confirm him and vote against this individual. We as citizens out here are penalized and fined for not paying our taxes on time and we aren’t running for or being considered for highly honorable positions. The statement being said for this appointment is “do as I say and not as I do” in this situation is not acceptable. The president should be appointing people with stellar records and people we can with out a doubt will be honest as they are serving their people.

I trust your vote will reflect the integrity of the people of Minnesota. This is not a partisan issue; it is an issue of doing the correct thing in selecting people to serve the president in an advisory position.

    Sincerely
    Gustave776

I would have wrote to both senators, but one the seats is being stolen by a left winged whiner that decided it was ok to count votes twice in some precincts.

I paid $100 for the privilege of ASKING FOR permission to take responsibility for my own safety a few years back when I was living in Boston, when applying for a license to carry.

My right to carry was denied.

They kept the $100, and told me I could own a gun, provided I didn’t try to actually defend myself with it off my property.

This asshole talks responsibility, but he is the anointed figurehead of the party that wants to tell me what I can eat, where I can smoke, what kind of car to drive, what kind of light bulbs to use, and where I can send my kids to school.

The Democrats are the very antithesis of personal responsibility. They’d rather see us all surrender our personal sovereignty to an all-powerful nanny state regime.

Fuck ‘em. That ain’t happening, as long as I’m drawing breath.

This is the same shyster who wants to take away the responsibility of choosing and paying for your own health care.

Yeah but what Obama means by this is that the nanny state will be responsible for everything.

Without individual responsibility, you have no individual rights. The Democrats have been working on taking your responsibilities away from you since the beginning of time.
