Obama’s Lies About Wright

We’ve been over the Obama/Wright stuff a lot, but I’m not sure I’ve ever laid out exactly how Obama lied about hearing Wright’s sermons.

When Obama appeared on Anderson Cooper’s show on March 14th he said he had not “ever” heard controversial statements while in Wright’s church.

SEN. BARACK OBAMA (D), PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: Well, first of all, Anderson, you know, I strongly condemn the statements that have been shown on the tape.

I have to confess that those are not statements that I ever heard when I was sitting in the pews at this church. . . .

COOPER: Did you not know, though, that, I mean, a couple days after 9/11, he said, you know, this was America’s chickens coming home to roost, a result of what he called American terrorism around the world?

I mean, you may not have been there, but have you—you must have heard that he had said these things.

OBAMA: You know, I confess that I did not hear about this—until I started running for president.

Here’s Obama four days later saying in his big speech about Wright that he did, actually, hear controversial comments in Wright’s church:

I have already condemned, in unequivocal terms, the statements of Reverend Wright that have caused such controversy. For some, nagging questions remain. Did I know him to be an occasionally fierce critic of American domestic and foreign policy? Of course. Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes. Did I strongly disagree with many of his political views? Absolutely — just as I’m sure many of you have heard remarks from your pastors, priests, or rabbis with which you strongly disagreed.

Hillary got called out on her claims of being under sniper fire during a visit to a foreign country, why isn’t Obama being called out on this rather blatant flip-flop?

Obviously there’s a distinction between the specific statements on the tape Anderson Cooper is referring to and “controversial remarks” which of course is much broader.  Just because Obama heard Wright say some controversial things does not mean Obama heard everything Wright ever said.

However, Rob is not someone who likes to miss an opportunity to smear.

Thank you Jimmy.  I am getting tired of continuously having to be the bearer of bad news to the king propagandist.

I am pretty sure Rob knows this.  But it appears to be a right-wing tactic to play incredibly stupid in order to smear your opponent.

But not so tired that you still insist on being the biggest fuc king propagandist on the site! smile

* Dodges questions from other posters * Refuses to give sources

Good morning Proof.

Can you please link me to a post I created to spread propaganda about a political leader or opponent of mine?

Fair enough, but Obama saying that he wasn’t in church to hear Wright’s controversial comments was meant to imply that he didn’t know Wright’s true nature.  Which, clearly, isn’t the case.  He knew who Wright was.  He heard the bile Wright spews.  And he continued to attend that church for 20 years.

That says something about Obama that I think most Americans aren’t going to like to hear.

Search “Hannitized” and “Rob”. You’ll find plenty!

That is pretty specific Rob.

..but Obama saying that he wasn’t in church to hear Wright’s controversial comments was meant to imply that he didn’t know Wright’s true nature.

That is not what Obama said.  Any interpretation of what he “meant to imply” is pure imaginative speculation on your part.

Also, why do you say “fair enough” as if you are agreeing, then turn around and immediately disagree?

Obama said that he had not heard “about this” (his reverend’s radicalism) until he ran for President.

But then he admitted to hearing objectionable comments from Wright.

Flip.  Flop.

Not that you’re honest enough to admit it, Hannitized.

And the “fair enough” comment was about Obama not hearing every comment Wright ever said.  Obviously, there were some Sundays Obama wasn’t there.  But the point is that Obama knew damn well who Wright was and what he preaches and chose to attend that church anyway.

That’s the problem Obama’s going to have with this right up until election day.
