Obama’s Campaign Going To Sponsor A NASCAR Team

Apparently the message to NASCAR fans will be “I’m a tax and spend liberal, but my picture’s on a NASCAR so I’m one of you guys!”

“...According to sources, Barack Obama’s campaign is in talks to become the primary sponsor of BAM Racing’s No. 49 Sprint Cup car for the Pocono race on August 3…

...Ken Schrader will drive the entry, a Toyota, at Pocono for BAM...”

Here’s what an Obama NASCAR might look like.

What interests me the most about this is Obama is the candidate who said that we can’t keep driving our SUV’s and setting our thermostats at 72 degrees and expect the rest of the world to keep liking us.  But the last time I checked, NASCAR burns a lot of fuel and emits a lot of greenhouse gases.  So do all the tractor trailers, RV’s and private aircraft that follow the racing series from race track to race track.  Plus, the NASCAR demographic is also the SUV/pickup truck demographic.

Does anyone honestly believe that Obama can be the candidate to represent NASCAR fans?

I’m sure that if Obama gets rejected by the NASCAR faithful the liberal will blame it on racism.  After all, NASCAR is the sport of white and mostly southern males.  But really NASCAR fans tend to be independent, freedom-loving, “leave us alone” type of Americans who don’t want to be told what temperature to set their thermostats at, let alone what type of vehicle to drive.

Obama is never going to be their candidate.

The desperation of the Obama campaign to make this guy appear to be a normal, non-radical, garden variety moderate is getting laughable and pathetic.

The fact is, McCain has had this middle ground ataked out since before Obama hooked up with Tony Rezko and Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright.

Not going to happen. Obama has declined sponsoring the 49 car since its driver, Ken Schrader, and his wife have donated to North Carolina Republican candidates and the image of sponsoring the only “foreign” car, Toyota, would be negative.

Apparently, the fact that he would be roundly booed by the NASCAR crowd did not play a role. /snark

What an idiot.
He’s sponsoring a f’n toyota team?!
Are his handlers really THAT stupid?
Were there no teams available with actual American manufactured cars?
/Before anyone jumps, I’m completely familiar with the NASCAR building system & realize that the cars are nearly identicle in components.
I also realize that toyota does assemble & manufacture cars in America.
THat aside, with the Mopar, GM, & Ford teams out there that would clearly point to supporting AMERICA, why on earth would obama choose a toyota team?!
