    If you read about what happened when the “Indian Removal Act of 1830″ was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Andrew Jackson, you will learn that Native Americans also owned slaves and were quite active in the slave trade.

    When the US gov forcefully removed the natives of the southeastern US over to the Oklahoma Territory, the natives brought with them 15,000 slaves of their own.

    Also, there were black plantation owners in the South who owned slaves.

    There is nothing new under the sun.
