Obama/Dems Nix Top US Catholic Cardinal Prayer, Okay Muslim Jumah at Convention Instead.

Muslim prayers in front of Capitol

More dangerous proof that talk by Democrats about inclusiveness, diversity, and tolerance is simply liberal dishonesty in spades.

Washington — President Obama turned down a chance to have Timothy Cardinal Dolan deliver a prayer at the Democratic National Convention after Dolan told Democrats he would be “grateful” to deliver a blessing in Charlotte.

Dolan — considered the top Catholic official in the nation, as head of the Archdiocese of New York and president of the Conference of Catholic Bishops — tipped off Democrats a few weeks ago that he had agreed to deliver the prime-time benediction at the Republican convention in Tampa next week, Dolan’s spokesman Joseph Zwilling told The Post.

Cardinal Dolan’s offer was obviously rejected because of his opposition to Obamacare’s birth control/abortion mandates.

Meanwhile, the Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs, an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation/Hamas terrorism money-laundering case, has been invited to hold a two hour prayer Jumah in Charlotte in connection with the Dems’ nominating convetion.

The Democratic National Committee is raising a number of eyebrows after choosing to proceed with hosting Islamic “Jumah” prayers for two hours on the Friday of its convention, though it denied a Catholic cardinal’s request to say a prayer at the same event.

Up to 20,000 people are expected to attend the Friday prayers and Jibril Hough, a spokesman for the Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs (BIMA), said the purpose of the event is to hold political parties accountable for the issues faced by Muslim-Americans.

In particular, the event will target the Patriot Act, the NYPD, the National Defense Authorization Act, and anti-Shariah sentiment.

No doubt there are those who find this a bit troubling and unseemly. But I think the rejection of Cardinal Dolan and the invitation of a Muslim terror co-conspirator to the Democrats’ convention nominating Obama is a perfect illustration of the choice facing American voters this November.
