Obama Uses A Food Taster In France
I thought heads of state had stopped doing this around the turn of the century.

Asked by AFP to comment, the restaurant confirmed the report.
It turns, per Ed Morrissey, it this isn’t just something Obama does. Bush did it too:
AS if the Queen hasn’t got enough on her plate accommodating all President Bush’s security demands, the Secret Service have put a food taster into the Buckingham Palace kitchens.
Nothing is being left to chance by the Americans, who have assembled the largest security operation seen in London for the three-day visit.
According to sources, everything that is destined to be served up for the President has to be tasted first.
It’s surprising to hear that this is happening, but when you think about it the Secret Service is nothing if not thorough. And good on them for it.
I’m just wondering, though…how much does an official food taster make? Because I think that’s a job I could do. I mean, travel the world with the President and eat all the food he (or maybe she one day) eats? I think I’m qualified.
