Obama Throws Taxpayer Funded Condoms Idea Under The Bus
Obama says the idea of taxpayer funded condoms in the “economic stimulus” spending spree wasn’t his idea.
The Obama White House on Monday backed away from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s support for increased federal funding of contraception in the $825-billion stimulus bill now under consideration by Congress.
That was not President Obama’s idea, a White House spokesman told CNSNews.com.
“The principles of what he thought should be in the package–that wasn’t part of that,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton told CNSNews.com. “They’re working on what the final bill should look like.”
Same old Obama. “This was not the economic stimulus package I thought I knew.” Can’t take responsibility for anything.
But I wonder if Obama also knows that, despite his claims that this “economic stimulus” spending spree is about repairing the nation’s infrastructure, only 3% of the stimulus plan is spending on actual roads and bridges.
Maybe that’s a little detail that escaped him too.
