Obama Thinks He Can Put Toothpaste Back In The Tube

By that, I mean The One actually thinks he can rid the world of nuclear weapons. Which is a startling level of naivety from someone who is supposed the leader of the free world.

U.S. President Barack Obama says he soon will lay out an agenda to seek a world without nuclear weapons.
Speaking to students in the eastern French city of Strasbourg, Mr. Obama said the spread of nuclear weapons could lead to the extermination of any city on the planet. He said he will outline his proposals in Prague Sunday.

This is about as foolish as thinking that we can ever again live in a world without guns. The simple fact of the matter is that guns, like nuclear weapons, actually exist. And while we can make all the good faith efforts we want to disarm ourselves in the name of world peace, there are always going to be those who won’t. Or, worse, those who will lie about their weapons.
Again, nuclear weapons actually exist. Some will never give them up. I’d much rather talk about what defenses we can have in place to protect us in case one of those other nations that have them decide to try and use one on us.
Unfortunately, Obama would much rather approach the issue with pretty-sounding (if fundamentally detached from reality) words about world peace instead of pragmatic, substantive policy decisions.
Which is why he really isn’t fit to be a world leader.

There will never be a successful missile shield, somebody will just build a better missile. It is the history of warfare.

He also thinks he can turn water into wine … the man is a delusional, narcissistic egomaniac. He might actually succeed in getting some of the weak-kneed countries to go along with this “plan”, whatever it is. I sincerely doubt that countries like Pakistan, North Korea, Iran and many others though will pay it any more attention than as a source of amusement.

It would be just a wonderful world if all the guns, bombs and criminals would just go away. If that ever happens let me know. In the meantime it makes more sense to try to ensure that your defenses are strong enough and that potential enemies and predators know beyond a doubt that you have the will to utterly destroy them if and when necessary.

What makes you think the next leader will be anymore open to cooperation than the current one?

It is the only real chance we have. We won’t invade NK because we don’t want a war with China.

East Germany reunited with West Germany. I believe if we lay the groundwork eventually North Korea will reunite with South Korea.

The rest of the world would havbe gotten nukes in due time. Americans are arrogant and naive to think they can have technology and no one else will get it.

As we decline thanks to conservatism, watch as our advancement slows to a standstill.

  • Hawk

Ah. Well then. I guess we should just roll over and die.

Or we try to get rid of as many of them as we can.

    Hawk:

If they have the capital to afford it.

Most countries with missiles are leveraging on 60-year old technology.

Russia has nothing to fear from a US missile shield, that’s true. But anti-missile technology would be highly effective against (speaking entirely hypothetically of course) e.g. North Korea and Iran.

Question for general audience: How has that “speaking directly” to these totalitarian states worked out so far?

The reality is we can’t go back to old age where weapons are only chisels and sticks. The best thing to say, if I am in his place is to keep each nations at peace. As we all know, countries are trying to keep themselves ready for nuclear wars, we are aware of that, even North Korea now have nuclear warfare. We don’t know, who would hit us anytime. So we also get ready for it, this is the reality. We really can’t take the toothpaste back in the tube but we can use it purposively in the right time and manner.

One British spy started the cold war? Dumbass.

No counter argument as usual, Sparkie. Read your history.

  • robert108

There’s nothing wrong with nuclear weapons, unless there are reasons to use them. When terrorists think they can seize power by using such weapons, they become dangerous, and removing one particular weapon doesn’t remove the insane desire for world domination.
As long as there are greedy, insane fools who seek to run the world for their own ego, the good people(conservatives) will need weapons to stop them.

Baracky is the problem, not the solution.

  • SigFan

East Germany reunited with West Germany. I believe if we lay the groundwork eventually North Korea will reunite with South Korea.

On a recent trip to Seoul I asked my business partners if the people of South Korea wanted reunification. I don’t recall the exact numbers they gave but they said that approximately 75% did not. I asked why and they said that the refugees flooding into the South from the North would swamp their economy, much like it did when East and West Germany reunified. That reunification, while good from the perspective of being another nail in the coffin of the Soviets really had some deleterious effects on the West. Not saying that over a long period these things wouldn’t work out eventually, but their immediate impact is not all champagne and roses. To the people of South Korea a much better solution is to get North Korea neutralized militarily and leave them on their own or as a ward of China.

Unilateral disarmament of the rest of the world can do nothing to assist in bringing this about, it merely leaves us in a position of weakness which far too many rogue states would be happy to exploit.

  • docdave

His disarmament plans will leave us naked to anyone that wants to do us wrong forcing us to capitulate. Pre-WWII will be replayed only we will be one of the victim nations.

The Left, since there ever was a domestic Left (really, an enemy 5th column in whichever nation they exist — save those which have already fallen under the bloody boot of communism) have always preceded from the assumption that unilateral disarmament is the way to go.

Yet this has been, from the very beginning, a monstrous lie.

The very same Leftists that would have Free Nations disarm vis-a-vis tyrants, or law-abiding citizens unilaterally disarm, or be disarmed vis-a-vis violent criminals and oppressive government thugs, have worked their level best to ensure that the enemy have the latest weapons possible.

Greenglass, the Rosenbergs and the rest of the Nuclear spies ensured that the Soviets saved years of research effort by providing them nuclear secrets and thus increased the strength of the Soviet tyrants enormously and thereby solidified the Soviet control over the vassal states by decades.

Jimmy Carter ensured that North Koreans got nuclear technology, in the asinine hope that they would not develop a nuclear weapons program.

Clinton super-charged the nuclear threat of all the Terror States by ensuring that Red China and North Korea got warhead, guidance system and multistage booster technology, which they subsequently provided to Saddam Hussein and other wild-eyed terrorist supporting nations.

The Left could never acknowledge that the Cold War was essentially a slow-mo holding action against the aggressive Communists, who were constantly fomenting terrorism in developed nations and instigating and supporting guerilla wars in Third World nations.

At the end of WWII the USA had the only nuclear bomb. Yet we did not use it against the Soviets, nor against the Red Chinese in 1949.

    We had self-restraint.

Later, when the Soviets, and still later, when the Red Chinese became nuclear powers, it was only the threat of mutually assured destruction that stayed their hand.

Obama is merely the latest fool that thinks that appeasement against evil ever does good for the appeaser.

It merely serves to expose us to the clearly-signaled violent intentions of our enemy.

He is a traitor to his oath (… to Support and Defend… ) and to the people he has been elected to protect. Indeed, by dropping our guard against the violence promised by evil heads of state, he is exposing the entire free world to the predations of Communist tyrants.

Thanks to republicans and their capitalist crook friends, there won’t be much to defend or fight for.

Most people would probably get a better deal if this country was taken over by someone else. The losers would be the rich.

  • Hawk

Question for general audience: How has that “speaking directly” to these totalitarian states worked out so far?

Since we have only been at it for two months I think it is a little early to tell.

As for North Korea, we are not speaking to their current leader, we are speaking to their next leader. Nothing will change until Kim Jong-Il dies, but we can lay the groundwork for relations with the next leader.

  • Mark

The only country to use nukes was America. If anything, the rest of the world should take them away from us.

God help me for responding……………But DINO you are a complete idiotic moron!

  • robert108

The only country to use nukes was America. If anything, the rest of the world should take them away from us.

This was precisely the thinking of the British spy who leaked the nuclear secrets to the Soviets just after the end of WWII. He started the Cold War, and is responsible for the situation in the world today.
The US used nukes to end WWII, a war of aggression and genocide by crazed totalitarians who wanted to enslave the rest of the world.

  • Mark

Americans are arrogant and naive to think they can have technology and no one else will get it.

Tell that to your Saviour, will you?

    Hawk:

    LOL.

That’s worked out really well so far.

  • SigFan

Nothing will change until Kim Jong-Il dies, but we can lay the groundwork for relations with the next leader.

What makes you think the next leader will be anymore open to cooperation than the current one? This crap with the NorK’s has been going on for fifty years now and it will not end soon. The only way it ends is if the North Korean people overthrow their government, which is highly unlikely given the civilians are totally disarmed, or North Korea overreaches and brings destruction on itself at the hands of the US, Japan or other stronger players. Just as with the Ayatollah’s, I’madinnerjacket, Obama, oops, I mean Osama, you cannot negotiate with madmen bent on destroying you and dominating the world. Peace only comes when you are strong enough to keep it.

  • Mark

This guy needs a reality check.

  • erick1740

Americans are better than the rest of the world, why do you think everyone wants to come here. We are the greatest nation in the history of the world. If you don’t think so, go somewhere else you stupid asshole.

  • robert108

Thanks to Dem social engineering market rigging, we are in an economic slump, and the Fool in Chief is doing the exact wrong thing: attacking achievement and piling up debt. An unimpeded free enterprise system is the only way to get out of this Dem-caused debacle, and Obamastem is doing his best to destroy the system that will produce the results we need. Insanity.

Dumb little dinostem continues to be stuck on stupid.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/america_is_back/#c397018 Dino2

Well, you conservatives think we can force Iran to give up its nuclear ambitions. Like we have the right to stop other countries from progressing.

The only country to use nukes was America. If anything, the rest of the world should take them away from us.

  • http://suitepotato.blogspot.com/ sayanything-4808

We might not invade NK but China sure is tempted to. They have no desire to have a provocative idiot on their doorstep drawing military fire. They might be the power to save the north from the cult gulag they’ve become. It’s a bit early to see though.

As far as missiles go, that someone might get past is not a reason to not have them. Taking two or three nuke hits is better than twenty or thirty. No arguing that at all unless you’re a glass is half empty twit who believes one nuke is the end of the world. Humans have survived worse. They will continue to.

Only as long as there’s only a longshot to getting off a nuke is there a pause that allows pressure and diplomacy a chance to get the finger off the trigger. If we don’t defend against them, they have more reason to use them and less to listen to the Obamarella and his Wicked Stepsister at the State Department.

the atom bombs we made were fairly simple, in retrospect. the hardest part of all that was procuring plutonium.
