Obama Snubbed Soldiers Because There Was No Photo Op for Him

Rob posted earlier on Obama skipping out on visiting the troops: Obama Skips Visiting US Troops In Germany To Make Time For More Campaigning In Front Of Germans.
Patterico’s Pontifications points to what could be the real reason!

One military official who was working on the Obama visit said because political candidates are prohibited from using military installations as campaign backdrops, Obama’s representatives were told, “he could only bring two or three of his Senate staff member, no campaign officials or workers.” In addition,
“Obama could not bring any media.  Only military photographers would be permitted to record Obama’s visit.”

NBC’s Jim Miklaszewski

What a class act! He could visit wounded soldiers, but no one would see him do it! In Barack’s world, What’s the percentage in that?

He cancels out on the soldiers yet he announces ...
“we’ve got some down time tonight. What are you guys gonna do in Berlin? Huh? Huh? You guys got any big plans? ...I’ve never been to Berlin, so...I would love to tour around a little bit.”
What an arrogant ass

Phony baloney, good time, rock and roll, plastic banana, opportunistic...politician!

For any voter trying to choose between the two candidates for commander in chief, there is no better test than this: When American strategy in a critical theater was up for grabs, John McCain proposed a highly unpopular and risky path, which he accurately predicted could lead to success. Barack Obama proposed a popular and politically safe route that would have led to an unnecessary and debilitating American defeat at the hands of al Qaeda.

Remember my & others complaint that obama requested Secret Service protection WAAAAAAAAAAY early just to give the aire of importance?
Look at the effect of that selfish, arrogant move:

“The Secret Service has asked for an extra $9.5 million to cover unexpected costs of protecting the presidential candidates during what has turned into an historic year for the agency’s campaign security job.
Among other things, the extra money would be used for the added costs for the candidates’ international travel and a late-in-the-game decision by Barack Obama to accept the Democratic nomination at Denver’s Invesco Field at Mile High—an open-air, 76,000-seat stadium—instead of the 20,000-seat Pepsi Center, which is the site of the party’s national convention...”

Poor poor poofie, Obama decided not to go so that you all couldn’t claim that he was using the injured troops for political props.  So he was right to cancel the meeting.  Either way you would have had a post to write, this is the one you chose to write.

The other one you would have written would probably have been headlined: “Obama uses injured soldiers to win presidency.” So he decided to not go and will continue to visit the troops at Walter Reed without press presence as he has done numerous times.

I chose to write about the facts! You might try it some time andy!
Obama needs to learn something about being a man. You make a commitment, you stick to it!  Senator O’blurry is committed to whatever gives him a boost at any particular moment.

BTW, andy: I noticed that you did not dispute the facts of the post nor did you address the character (or lack thereof) of your candidate, but chose to attack the messenger with abortive mind reading or foolish speculation.

I guess if that’s all you’ve got...

Obama did the right thing in not letting the likes of you use the injured troops to go after Obama.  He’d rather take the crap you spew of not going then letting you use injured troops because he did go.

That is character and leadership.  You ought to try it sometime

Oh and Poofie, the troops were pretty excited to see Obama.  The pictures show soldiers getting their pictures taken with him, laughing smiling, giving the V sign.  so much for the troops thinking he wants to lose.  They obviously support him and I think will sjupport him for president.

That is what truly bugs you.

Andy,

That’s just about the most convoluted bit of horseshit you’ve ever written.  Helluva an accomplishment!

Andy is on to something here.  Maybe he didn’t visit with the wounded soilders because no matter what dicks, I mean bloggers, like Proof would find an excuse to use it against him despite the fact it was just him and a couple of Senate staff.  I do not think Proof is one for writing about the facts.  Look at the headline of this blog.  Total bullshit. How in the f*&% would he know!!

Chief,

You are correct about Obama being a phony.  But those on the Left are no less enamored simply because the guy is a fraud and his “solutions” are anything but.

For them, he represents a self-delusional justification for not admitting that they are, and continue to be, inherently wrong about quite nearly everything.  Rather than face up to the “reality” of their mistakes, they delight in their inexperienced demi-god, a cross between the Pied Piper and Peter Pan.

Shrug, ignoring the rights and wrongs angle...not visiting the troops was STUPID.

Certainly, Obama has no obligation to visit the injured while he’s over there. But let’s not forget, these injured soldiers are potential voters. If you’re gonna go make an expensive trip across Europe...it’s just plain bad campaigning to ignore people who can vote for you to talk to people who can’t.

But it’s not like Obama has been a pillar of brilliance or anything.

Obama/Biden is not change. It’s more of the same.

Step away from the crack pipe and take a breather!

The ones he didn’t visit? Yeah, I guess!

They obviously support him and I think will sjupport (sic) him for president.

Andy: Mind reading is NOT your gig! What “bugs” me is opportunistic politicians who claim to be “for the troops” unless they can’t get their picture taken doing it. We call those politicians “hypocrites”.

Now you and ellinas and any other brain dead leftoids can come here and call me names, but I don’t see any of you coming up with a reasonable explanation as to why the Obamanoid blew off a visit with injured when he learned that he could not bring his entourage and camera crew.

Which, for the ADD afflicted among you, was the point of this post!

Oh, and to Chris, andy and all the other bullshitters here: Get a life! Each of you invents the argument I would have used against Obama if only the facts had been different. Bullshit! I deal in reality, unlike the brain dead leftoid mind readers who take what I didn’t say to use as an argument against me!

I’m on the record, little boys! Argue against what I say, not against whatever wet dreams of straw men you may have!

Maybe obama thinks the military will be like the Floridians....
Maybe he thinks they’ll back him no matter what happens

RebTex on July 25, 2008 at 10:38 am

Obama cancelled when he learned he could not bring his ‘entourage’ of media people with him, that he could only bring a few staffers and that was it.

The military would provide a photographer to record the event.

My thoughts is to keep the wounded soldiers from becoming a spectacle of the press, so they keep the press out and allow for more private encounters with the troops.

Obama did not like that, so he cancelled. He was not prohibited in any way. They were ready for him to vist and they had made all the preparations needed for his visit to the troops - Obama cancelled it on his own.

Then the Obama campaign sends out rumors of McCain using his military contacts in the government to impose this on Obama.

To me this speaks VOLUMES about Obama’s character.

The more I get to know Obama the less I like him.

Settle down Proof.  Didn’t mean to hurt your little feelings. If you can’t take it then I suggest you don’t dish it out.  Nice comeback with the “get a life” line.
The only fact is that he didn’t visit.  You then thought up a situation that could/could not have been truth.  How would you know?  You don’t.  That is called talking shit not stating the “FACTS”.  I don’t take that as reality.

What are you babbling about now, Crass? My feelings aren’t hurt and I have no trouble “taking criticism. Maybe if your criticism were directed at the facts and not some imaginary hypothetical of what I would have written had Obama done something different, you could tell the difference?

Here’s Crass talking out of his ass:

I do not think Proof is one for writing about the facts.  Look at the headline of this blog.  Total bullshit. How in the f*&% would he know!!

Now, petulant child, let’s go to the post beyond the headline and examine the facts that you are so blind to: According, not to me, as anyone with the most basic of reading skills could ascertain*, but to NBC’s Jim Miklaszewski:

One military official who was working on the Obama visit said because political candidates are prohibited from using military installations as campaign backdrops, Obama’s representatives were told, “he could only bring two or three of his Senate staff member, no campaign officials or workers.” In addition,
“Obama could not bring any media.  Only military photographers would be permitted to record Obama’s visit.”

The official said “We didn’t know why” the request to visit the wounded troops was withdrawn.  “He (Obama) was more than welcome.  We were all ready for him.”

Now, Crass. Which part of that statement is “Total Bullshit”? And how the f*&% would you know?

I sure the world waits your answer with bated breath!

*Obviously, not Crass!

What’s funny is that Obama probably won’t even get a chance to withdraw the troops even if he’s elected.

They may well be out of Iraq, and some of them on to AFghanistan, having completed their mission despite constant obstruction and defeatism from the likes of ignorants like Buzz.

Good luck getting him elected with the racist union Democrat voting block.

Ain’t happening. Your fellow brethren won’t vote for him in the numbers he needs.

Add in the thoroughly pissed off ”PUMAS” and people like us who do not wish to sell our country out to anti-American Marxists and your boy candidate is toast.

But hold onto that “HOPE” if it makes you feel better. The real election is months away and it could still go either way. You just may get your “CHANGE” yet.
