Obama Seeks to Ban Fox From Press Pool

President Obama Holds Town Hall Meeting In Missouri

So first of all a bit of background.  The White House press corp has an arrangement called a pool.  How it is they take turns covering certain aspects of the administration and share their findings.  That means that in instances where there’s limited space for an event that all networks have a shot at a story.  For example the President may visit a VA hospital and his people may ask that only a few reporters show up to not make a circus out of the event.  All of the information the pool reporter gets is shared.

It’s a good arrangement and certainly has it’s place.  But now the Nixonian White House is trying to have the Fox News banished from the broadcast media pool.

“Today there was an announcement by the administration,” Baier said. “They were putting out the pay czar, Kenneth Feinberg, as we showed you earlier for the White House pool - that Feinberg would be doing a round-robin interviews with the five-network pool that covers the White House - basically shares the costs and the daily coverage duties of covering the president. Fox News has been a member since 1997.”

The press pool is comprised of the five major TV news organizations - CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox News. However, according to Baier, the other members declined to participate unless Fox News was included.

“When they put out that message, they specified that all members of the pool were welcome except Fox News,” Baier said. “Well the other members of the TV pool said, ‘Well we’re not going to do the interview unless Fox News is included.”

If there was any question that the Obama administration was a bunch of paranoids this is it.  To their credit the other member of the pool didn’t go along.  Hopefully they’ll realize that if Fox News gets pushed out then the White House Thugs will pick the next name on their enemies list which is probably Jake Tapper at ABC.
