Obama Says Poor Countries Getting Welfare Should Help Themselves
At the G20 conference, Obama and his fellow international political elite have decided that the international community should send more money to “poor countries.” But Obama thinks that those poor countries also need to help themselves.
STRASBOURG, France – President Barack Obama says impoverished nations are entitled to help, but they also must help themselves.
During a town hall meeting in Strasbourg, France, a German student asked Obama how he plans to help those living in poverty.
Obama says the world should help. At the same time, he says governments asking for assistance need to weed out corruption.
Well, why should these governments weed out corruption when we keep propping up the corrupt regimes with billions upon billions in international aid? What incentive is there for reform when we keep the subjects of these corrupt regimes just fed enough to not want to disrupt the status quo?
In some of these poor countries there have been movements to “stop the aid” for years now. Because they recognize that the international aid is doing more harm in propping up the corrupt status quo and removing the incentive for change than good in keeping people fed, etc.
Obama campaigned on “change,” and yet time and again he embraces the same tired-out old methods liberals have been trying (and failing at) for decades now.
