Obama Rips Off Childrens Show Chant

Excerpt from Obama’s Speech Last Night:

But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope. For when we have faced down impossible odds; when we’ve been told that we’re not ready, or that we shouldn’t try, or that we can’t, generations of Americans have responded with a simple creed that sums up the spirit of a people.
Yes we can.
It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation.
Yes we can.
It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom through the darkest of nights.

Yes we can.

It was sung by immigrants as they struck out from distant shores and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness.
Yes we can.

At least we know what his favorite TV show is….

Don’t ya hate it when someone goes out of their way to point out the fact that you’re mistaken? I know I would never bring up the fact that Lee Dorsey recorded, Yes We Can, in 1970
    Bwah ha ha … ;-)

It is hard to be original anymore, everything has been done before.

Are you accusing me of shamelessly ripping off this idea from another blog. Because if you are, well ah, um.

At least I linked to it!

So Bob the Builder stole it from the Pointer Sisters before Obama stole it from him.

    I suppose that’s fair then.

It is hard to be original anymore, everything has been done before. It takes some creative thinking today to make something truly original.

    Maybe Obama is setting the foundation for his run in 2016 when those kids who watch Bob the Builder reach the age required to vote. :}

    No, sorry Mr. Whistler.

I just meant that Obama’s speech writers may or may not have ripped the idea off from somewhere.

It is sometimes hard to put new things out there that hasn’t been done before.

I know we can make it.
I know darn well we can work it out.
Oh yes we can, I know we can can
yes we can can, why can’t we?
If we wanna, yes we can can.

    Released November, 1972.

Of course you’re right Creasy. The whole post was to lighten things up.

People noted in the past day or two that he sounded like a southern preacher in his “concession” speech in New Hampshire.

Obama is my Senator and it is really quite amazing to see the transformation he makes when speaking to different groups or the media. When he won the senate seat his wife introduced him as, “My baby’s Daddy!” (No lie, I almost fell off my chair).

I can understand the reluctance for some in the media to note this, besides their love for him and lack of objectivity already admitted to, it was even tough for me to write this without sounding and feeling racist, after noting cultural differences has been so deamonized by the PC establishment for decades now!

But the Dr. Jeckel, Mr. Hyde act really makes you wonder what he is really like under the facade.
