Obama On Efforts To End Affirmative Action: They “Drive A Wedge Between People”

Senator Obama thinks the efforts to end affirmative action in America, most notably the initiated measure to do so in Arizona, are divisive:

“You know, the truth of the matter is, these [efforts] are not designed to solve a big problem, but they’re all too often designed to drive a wedge between people.”

Here’s the actual text of the measure affirmative action critics are trying to get passed in Arizona:

The state shall not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting.

Somebody should read that to Obama, and then ask him what part of it is “driving a wedge” between people.  Because that seems like a call for equal treatment to me.

They should also ask Obama why he favors treating people of certain skin colors differently.

Comments

Affirmative action is divisive.

Obama is ok with that as he’s nothing but a race hustling poverty pimp.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.
