(I’m also on my way out to the gym to “beat up” an assortment of machines for a couple hours. Its similar to our rhetorical exercises here with the lefties… except that with the machines you can always crank up the resistance or increase the weights to make the effort more worthwhile.)

I’ve come up with only two analogous situations, neither a direct comparison constitutionally. The first is income taxes, and the second is Selective Service registration. Both have been challenged repeatedly in the courts unsuccessfully, but neither on the grounds you’ve suggested here as regards the so-called “health care reform” plan being perpetrated by the Dems. Health care and the “commerce clause” can’t really be said to rise to the level of national defense.

Incidentally, that ex-pat British host was Mark Steyn, whose wit and wisdom far exceeds those of any 5 Democrats you can name. In fact, when you think about, just about all of the “best and brightest” are now on/in The Right. Those on the Left fall into one of two categories… Thugs or Slugs!

I guess those death panels in the bill are being found out.
