I recall some years ago the Reverend Jesse “I extort other peoples money for my living” Jackson, saying that when he walked in a Washington D.C. neighborhood one night he realized he was being followed by a man, he later said he hoped it was not a black man. He regretted those feelings and used it to focus on racial stereotypes, but the truth is most of us alone in a black neighborhood at night, white or black would feel less threatened if the person following us was white rather than black. Why? Because of the high rates of crimes in black communities, most often blacks against other blacks. That is reality!

If we were in large ghettos filled with Asians. areas afflicted with high crime rates, we would have some fear if at night some Asian man was following us versus a white man or a black man.

I got lost in Houston, Texas looking for a place to buy tickets for a Justin Timberlake concert. I had my daughter & her friend in the car and finally I just said I am going to ask someone. Silly me, I drove right up to 3 black guys and asked them for directions and they helped me. My daughter & her friend could not believe I asked these guys for directions. I said WHY? AND they both said because Mom they are crack dealers. I asked how they new that? They said because their pinky finger nails were extra long. They were the nicest young men and gave me perfect directions. So there!

It seems like Senator Obama is trying to equate his pastor claiming that AIDS was created by the government to kill black men with the white person who suddenly tells his kids “windows up” when he realizes that he accidently drove into South-Central Los Angeles.

Senator Obama never said “typical white person” after the comment about his Grandmother.  He said his Grandmother was scared of black men just like his Reverend was critical of white people.  You are the reason that people around the world consider Americans to be the most ignorant, uneducated, hypocrital people in the world.  Get a fucking brain. You wouldn’t be suspicious of white people after a fucking life time of racism? (the Reverend not Barack)

Pottymouth/Megan, listen to the audio again.  Obama absolutely described his mother as a typical white person.

Almost all of the violent street crime is committed by young men. Obama recognizes knowledge of this fact as something that has “been bred into our experiences that don’t go away”.

Well no shit, Obama. It’s called reality. Wishing it away while hoping that the young will be “feeling a little bit less like that” doesn’t change that reality.

Obama has the “reality based community” in his camp. It’s about high time that they act like it. Wishing reality away does not make it so.

No, that’s not what he said at all.

Hold up a mirror honey. Your translation of Obama’s comment was ignorant and uneducated. Maybe you’re the reason that people around the world consider Americans to be the vile described. You certainly embody those things of which you named.

Frankly, if Obama’s grandmother sees a bunch of guys on the street that she “doesn’t know” and she’s not a little bit apprehensive on approaching them, she’s nuts.

The streets are dangerous and it is the young men who do the crimes.

Grandma’s apprehension should trouble Obama, but it is not her end that should trouble him.

It is not necessarily the color of one’s skin nor the race of the person, but the protection by the press, courts and community that have been the environmental causes of certain people breaking laws and not being punished for it.  Most of those people were and are negroes.  They burned down several cities back in the 1960s and have never been prosecuted nor punished for it.  Like pampered children, certain other people—liberals—have made excuses and excused their criminal behaviors for decades.  This began sometime around the mid 60s.
Until all people are held accountable for their actions on an equal basis, then this will continue.  Time for a change!

Communism is evil

OK, everyone who pointed out that being afraid of black men who pass you on the street is normal—if you don’t know them and are in a low-income neighborhood—and think that Obama is disagreeing with that:

“In fact, a similar anger exists within segments of the white community…. So when they are told… that their fears about crime in urban neighborhoods are somehow prejudiced, resentment builds over time.”

I think he’s basically saying that it’s legitimate to be wary of unknown people in crime-ridden urban neighborhoods. I kind of doubt that crime-ridden urban neighborhoods were a typical hangout spot for his grandma, though.

On the other hand, it’s reasonable to be afraid of young white men that you don’t know if you’re in a bad neighborhood, too, with as good reason. If Obama’s grandmother was significantly less afraid of young white men in similar economic situations, then that’s kind of misguided, if not racist. I’d personally be a lot more afraid of a hoodlum-looking white guy than a black guy in a suit. But anytime I was around a black guy in hip-hop influenced clothing, I’d be careful.

By the way, I suspect that Megan assumed the audio was just a clip from Obama’s race speech, when in fact it’s a subsequent interview.

One of Obama’s problems is that he doesn’t admit that his BLACK grandmother—had she been American—would also be afraid of black thugs on the street.  Maybe more so, since she couldn’t get out of the neighborhood.  In a way, Obama has just injected more racism into the campaign because his “black” experience is not a “typical” American one.

I would like to see good black people. I don’t want afraid of blacks. Even they can be criminals.

There was discussion a few years ago that what the Left attacked as racism was in fact enlightened self interest on the part of regular Americans in moving to protect themselves against those who committed a disproportionate amount of violent crime.  I want to say the leading proponent of that term of art was Indian pundit Ramesh Ponnuru, but could find no related links.

Incarceration

  * Between 1980 and 2003 the US incarceration rate more than tripled, from 139 to 482 per 100,000, and the number of prisoners increased from 320,000 to 1.39 million.
  * Blacks are seven times more likely to be in prison than whites. Hispanics are three times more likely.

Like the rest of the Left’s objectives, their way of preventing Americans from actually analyzing the threat, and then moving to counter it, whether it is gun crime or other violent street crime from gang bangers, or the threat of the spread of AIDS and other opportunistic diseases by homosexuals, or the social, safety and financial costs of illegal immigration, their method has simply been to work themselves into an indignant frenzy and lambaste those who wanted to address each of these social ills decisively as being racist.

Zig, have you ever noticed that those ads on TV selling home security systems always have a white guy 30 to 40 years old as the burglar/criminal? They deliberately portray a segment of the population least likely to commit crime as the criminal element.
