It’s a short story, so I assume if you consider the entire story “a detail”...yea I guess you can be right.

This is supposedly a story he knew and had heard many times from the family, probably including the uncle who lived it. So, it stretches credulity to believe that a personal story could be so factually inplausible. To believe that, you have to believe that it was traumatic enough for Barack to remember the story, but somehow unimportant enough for him to remember any of the details. That’s fishy.

Occum’s Razor...whatever is the simplest explaination is probably true...Barack is lying.

The only valid criticism is that Obama spoke without doing his homework.  The Obama campaign says the senator was actually speaking about his great uncle who served in the 89th Infantry Division.

Now to that point the Obama campaign says that the senator actually meant to say Buchenwald, which was liberated by U.S. troops in April of 1945.

All of this is factual and can not be disproved. 

I suppose to some, getting your family stories wrong is a big deal, to others, not so much.

I didn’t read that far down. So, you admit they made a correction. That means they were wrong or confused, and when called on it, they fixed their mistake (by the time I went there). That’s not lying H. That’s honest journalism. “Look guys. We got it wrong. Out bad. Forgive us. Anyone who based their story off that site would be forgiven for rereporting what they heard as long as they made corrections as well. None of those are the signs of liars.

Such as now, you’re faced with the absolutely undeniable fact that these people made a mistake and fixed it. Instead of apologizing for calling them liars, you double down and somehow claim that making a correction makes them MORE dishonest.
