Obama Issues Non-Apology For “Bitter” Remarks

Typical:

“...[O]bviously, if I worded things in a way that made people offended, I deeply regret that.

The first step in apologizing is admitting that you’re wrong.  People are offended by what he said, but he’s clearly not willing to admit that.  Which means the only thing he regrets is that his campaign is in hot water because the rubes heard what he said.

This is what Sen. Obama said which Hillary’s ilk are demagoguing:

“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years. ... And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

What is there to apologize for? Obama understands that these rustics won’t vote for him or Hillary; that in their bitterness they’ll vote for the man who will give America her coup de grace, viz., John McCain who is an imbecile when it comes to economics.

Yeah, and here’s the rest…

“But the underlying truth of what I said remains, which is simply that people who have seen their way of life upended because of economic distress are frustrated and rightfully so. And I hear it all the time when I visit these communities. People say they feel as if nobody is paying attention or listening to them and that is something — that is one of the reasons I am running for president. I saw this when I first started off as a community organizer and the steel plants had closed, and I was working with churches in communities that had fallen on hard times. And they felt angry and frustrated.”

He’s not going to apologize.  Nor should he.  People are disenfrachised...shocker.

It’s the influx of illegals into places where they’ve never seen a Hispanic influence before,” McCain told me. “You probably see more emotion in Iowa than you do in Arizona on this issue. I was in a town in Iowa, and twenty years ago there were no Hispanics in the town. Then a meatpacking facility was opened up. Now twenty per cent of their population is Hispanic. There were senior citizens there who were–’concerned’ is not the word. They see this as an assault on their culture, what they view as an impact on what have been their traditions in Iowa, in the small towns in Iowa. So you get questions like ‘Why do I have to punch 1 for English?’ ‘Why can’t they speak English

Jay, you don’t get to sweep this under the rug for Obama by setting up a strawman.  Nobody is arguing that people aren’t disenfranchised.  As a conservative Republican who feels all but abandoned by his party, I feel very disenfranchised.

The insult is where Obama said that people like me cling to guns, god and hatred of people not like me because of that disenfranchisement.  As though I need to be exposed to the enlightenment of liberalism to be all better.

That’s the problem, and the longer you Obama supporters keep apologizing for him instead of holding him accountable the more foolish he’s going to appear.

You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them.

So it’s the government’s responsibility to create jobs where these people live instead of the people moving to where the jobs are?  After 25 years only the certifiably slow would have failed to see that the jobs aren’t coming back.

Yeah Jay.  Rob knows what Obama really meant.  He is so smart he also figured out what Bush really meant when he said this:

Too many OB/GYNs aren’t able to practice their love with women all across this country.

And don’t bother setting up the strawman that Bush was only talking about frivolous lawsuits.  You aren’t going to sweep that statement under the rug.

Now watch you run Rob.  I will ask you three questions and watch you ignore the most important one.

1) Did you give Obama an out when he explained what he was trying to say, instead of the way some took it?

2) Did you bother to read the context originally, instead of jumping to the wrong conclusion?

3) Did you hold Bush accountable for saying that OB-GYNs can’t practice their love with women around the country?

Move along now, nothing to see here.

If you’re implying that I avoid comments directed at me, please know that there are hundreds upon hundreds of comments posted here daily.  I don’t have the time nor the patience to sort through all of those, find the ones addressing me, and respond.

If you’re just dying to get me to answer something, use the private message feature (you’ll have to log in to your account to use it) or the “contact rob” link on the side.

1) Did you give Obama an out when he explained what he was trying to say, instead of the way some took it?

He said that no “key” al Qaeda people were in Iraq, which is a distinction without a difference.  He is trying to minimize al Qaeda’s presence in Iraq yet is clearly wrong about that given that al Qaeda is doing more killing in Iraq than it is doing anywhere else int he world.

2) Did you bother to read the context originally, instead of jumping to the wrong conclusion?

That question presumes that I jumped to an inaccurate conclusion, which I didn’t.

3) Did you hold Bush accountable for saying that OB-GYNs can’t practice their love with women around the country?

Obama made a factual error in his comment which illustrated his utter cluelessness when it comes to foreign policy.  Bush made an accurate statement - he was talking about compassion not sex - even if it was worded in a cringe-worthy manner.

Hannitized, I guess I mixed up my threads and I’m not sure if you’re referring to Obama’s “bitter” comments or his comments about al Qaeda in Iraq.

As for his bitter comments I’ll say this: The expanded context does not change what he said even a little bit.  He said that rural Americans, specifically those in Pennsylvania, were bitter and cling to guns, religion, “anti-immigration” feelings and dislike of those not like them because of it.  Nothing else he said changes that no matter how hard you try to spin.

As a rural American, I take no small amount of exception to that characterization.

You know what fascinates me about people like you Rob?  (Please don’t take that the wrong way, it’s not meant as a compliment)

People like you get up everyday to make a bogus argument or to lie to your following.  Somehow, you find enough time in the day to actually create a blog, make story, after story, after story about something you took out of context on purpose, out of hate, or out of stupidity.

You post about Wright, you whine, you cry, you attack.  But here is a question I’ll bet never crossed your mind;

How do you differ from Wright?

He preaches, so do you.  He preaches what looks like hate, just as you.  His sermons have and effect, as does yours.

Yet, for some strange reason, you justify what you do and condemn Wright.

At least Wright preaches about loving your enemy and not succumb to their level of bigotry and hate.  You have never said such a thing. I have never seen you reach out to meet your Dem friends in the middle.

You divide this country out of hatred for Liberals and Dems and you think that is just peachy.

What did liberals ever do to you that makes you hate them so much?  Then ask yourself, what did whites do to Wright?

Did Liberals ever segregate you?  Did Liberals ever take away your job?  Did Liberals ever make you sit in a different part of the bus, drink from a different fountain, tell you that you can not vote, tell you that you can not marry this black woman?

The fact of the matter is that your hate is much more deep and unnecessary.

Look at your following.  Look what you have created.  (Proof, 2Hotel, Zsa Zsa,) Useful idiots who go about repeating your distortions, lies and propaganda.

Again, I ask you.  How do you differ from Wright?

Oh bruther Rob.  He said and meant that they cling to those VOTES, that they can actually make a change on, by voting.  VS. economic, where it’s not black and white like gay marriage or immigration.

You know this.  But you are distorting and lying and ignoring to tear down Obama, cuz you don’t have anything else to stick to him.

McCain said similar things regarding immigration and how people react emotionally to it.

You lie Rob, plain and simple.

Are people im Middle America bitter yes or no?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYmFAwhmqaU

Click on that link and tell me that people aren’t bitter.  What does Ted Nugent stand for?  Or rather, what does he stand against?

Gun Control

Illegal immigration

The right to self defense

Education System - “Know I’m sayin”?

Re-read Obamas post and admit you are not only misguided and mistaken, but dishonest.

“People don’t vote on economic issues because they don’t expect anybody is going to help them,” Obama told a crowd at a Terre Haute, Ind., high school Friday evening. “So people end up voting on issues like guns and are they going to have the right to bear arms. They vote on issues like gay marriage. They take refuge in their faith and their community, and their family, and the things they can count on. But they don’t believe they can count on Washington.”

Here is another example of all the bitterness, that does not exist in Middle America.....because...because....Rob says so.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tgkmO9VV8Y&feature=related

Gun Control - Check

Right to defend ones self - Check

Immigration and border control - Check

Education system (pick on blacks) - Check “know i’m sayin”?

Again, anyone who is honest isn’t offended to what Obama said.  The only people who are offended are the people who want to be offended, so they can score their cheap political point.

That cheap suit wears well on you Rob.

What I have learned from Hannitized:

- Rob is a worse hater than Reverend ‘God Damn America’ Wright

- Anyone who disagrees with Hannitized about anything is a liar, ipso facto

- Obama was right when he insulted poor Pennsylvanians’ values

And Hannitized calls us the propagandists?

Ken McCracken on April 13, 2008 at 06:25 pm

Again, anyone who is honest isn’t offended to what Obama said.

I have never, ever, once met a gun owner who turned to guns because he was dissatisfied with some other part of their life. Obama displays a dismal ignorance about gun owners on this point.

The idea that a Pennsylvanian born as a catholic or methodist, going to church more or less their whole life, somehow turned to religion because of ‘frustrations’ is just ludicrous on its face.

Hannitized, if you were honest, you would realize how deeply insulting and condescending Obama is on these points.

I know you are dishonest about this because you disagree with me.
