Obama: I’ll Never Forget…Uh…What’s-His-Name

I missed this during the debate, but a blogger at the LA Times picked up on it.

Anyone else notice that Obama had to check the name on his wrist when he and McCain were comparing bracelets?

I did notice that.  I think it’s stupid that they feel like they have to name some wounded soldier or whatever.  It really seemed like that whole scene was staged.  McCain says “i remember so and so in coming back from Iraq” and Obama follows with “well when i talked to so and so.” It sucks that this is what the debate are about.

That being said… there’s no doubt that Obama couldn’t remember the guy’s name.

The real question is, was he actually wearing the bracelet..?

I was hoping at the time John would walk over and swap bracelets with him only to find that the anti war racist democrat was not wearing it.  Hope, in my world.

As I mentioned in the open thread last night, I thought the whole bracelet comparison thing was pretty stupid.

Yes, the bracelet thing was stupid, but we have to remember that these debates are not for those of us who follow politics and care about who is in power.  Rather, the debates are for those who usually watch Survivor, Biggest Loser and that stupid new wall game show on Fox.

You forgot WWE, NCIS, The Unit, 24 and many others (although biggest loser was/is never on in my house).

Oh, that is me too.

Be careful with that paint brush.  You paint stuff you never wanted to paint with so bug a brush.  I believe you mean the debates are for undecided voters.

atease,

Well of course there are probably commenters on on this site who watch “reality” television.  Even I do, though under protest.  (My wife and daughter insist on watching American Idol.) I would guess though that very few if any here would consider that quality entertainment on the level of say a classic movie.  There are plenty of people out there who do consider that quality entertainment though.  And my comment was slightly condescending (I’m trying out my new Obama impression), it was accurate.

As for you personally, you may not follow politics the whole year round or on non-election years, but you are here now.  I would guess you have at least a little more interest than the average non-voter or even the average voter (as scary as that my be).

So in conclusion, I apologize that you may have been offended my words which were not intended to offend you.  That is not the comment that I knew.  I am taking the matter seriously.  Someone on my staff filled in that comment; I had never seen it personally before.  And any criticism of my comment means that you are a racist.

LMAO!!!!

A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.

kbiel,

I was just playing with your comments.  I follow politics all the time, including foreign governments that are adversaries of us today.  It is my passion after my family and the Steelers.

I just happened to stumble here by chance and decided I would like to stay.  The folks here were not trash talking, swearing, idiots.  That was appealing to me since my kids can be looking at this.

P.S.  There is nothing better than a John Wayne movie.  That was when Hollywood cared about this country.

Atease, just make sure to watch out for rbb and hannitized.  They are pretty nutty most of the time.

MNF should be a good game this week with your Steelers taking on the Raven’s defense!
