Obama Had Better Land Powell Now

All this hype surrounding the possibility of Colin Powell endorsing Obama at the Democrat convention has got to have Obama between a rock and a hard place. Whether or not he was even seeking Powell’s endorsement before (and he probably was), now he sort of has to land it.
Obama has been hyping those “Republicans (who aren’t really Republicans) for Obama,” but if Obama can’t even come off as appealing to a dedicated moderate like Powell he’s going to have trouble convincing a lot of Americans that he is, in fact, a political moderate.

So a well documented right wing columnist claims Powell is going to support Obama.

Now you assume that he HAS to land Powell? Because Bill Kristol said it?

Well since you said in your own post that he would be in a line of others who are not really a republican, does it even matter if Powell supports Obama? All the liberal wackos support him already, and any real republican doesn’t think Powell is worth is salt.

  • Ace25

Karl Rove & Newt Gingrich were just on AM1100 and it sounds like Powel isn’t even attending the convention…

    I don’t think it’s going to happen…

    Rob,

You are a fool and a propagandist. You know damn well it was Kristol who broke this supposed story.

Now you are holding Obama responsible for not pulling it off and making this some sort of failure for him if he cant? JEEZUS!

So then if Olberman starts a story that Clark is endorsing McCain but McCain doesn’t pull it off it makes him look bad?

Your such a cheap suit it aint even funny kid.

  • Hannitized

Rob is a hack Onemore…..don’t even waste your time expecting a rational response from him.

  • carrick

    Powell ain’t gonna happen.

Well, Obama’s the one bragging about “Republicans for Obama.” So far his track record on that is Lincoln Chafee (not a Republican)

So there is only one Republican for Obama? THAT is your argument? You expect to be taken seriously? Did you blow your own hot air in that trial balloon or did you read that argument on a real blog and simply forgot how to pitch that arugment?

Because one only needs to do a Google search. But, with that raving review of your educational system, I can imagine why this notion slipped past you.

    Director

John Martin is the Co-founder and Director of Republicans for Obama. He lives in The Bronx, New York, where he is a law student and a United States Navy Reservist.

John was active in his high school’s Young Republicans Club and became a registered Republican shortly after his 18th birthday. After graduating with honors from Binghamton University, John interned and worked for Senator James Jeffords (R-I) of Vermont, and then received an MA in Political Science from Columbia University. He has worked on both local and national election campaigns.

John recently returned home from a tour of duty in Afghanistan, where he served supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

    Deputy Director

Kenneth Wehking is the Deputy Director of Republicans for Obama and head of the Colorado chapter. He lives in Highlands Ranch, Colorado and works for a large healthcare company in software quality assurance. Being raised in Colorado, he enjoys hiking with his Great Dane, climbing the 14ers of Colorado, marathon running, cycling and dog parks. Educated at the University of Miami, he met people from around the world and has seen first hand that we can celebrate our diversity and cultures, while still sharing common ground.

A lifelong Republican, Ken feels that many politicians have forgotten about the people they were elected to represent. In the spirit of Teddy Roosevelt, America needs a statesman that can set a new course and change this culture of division to one of cooperation and solutions to our most pressing problems. Including, budget deficits, healthcare reform, energy independence, social security/medicaid reform and protecting our natural resources, among a few.

Erik Paterson has been a conservative Republican all his life, is an NRA Life Member, and has always voted the Republican party line, that is until he actually started listening to what to Senator Obama had to say. Erik first heard Obama speak during his senatorial debate with Alan Keyes, and then during his keynote speech at the 2004 Democratic convention. The more he listened, the more sense Senator Obama made. After reading his books, Erik was sold on the idea that Barack Obama is what this country needs in the White House.

Erik is 53 years old, and was born in Berkeley California. He is a United States Marine Corps Veteran, currently working as a Public Transportation Professional. He has been married for 36 years to the same wonderful woman, who is an Army Veteran, and a Health Care Professional. Together they have three fantastic sons, all USAF veterans who brought them three wonderful daughters.

Barbara Gordon – whose real name is Lisa – has been registered Republican since she turned 18, but has serious concerns about the current incarnation of the Republican Party. This new brand of Republicanism has been advertised as the party of “compassionate conservatives,” but Barbara feels it has failed at both compassion and true conservatism. She is hopeful that Obama can heal and redirect America while the Republicans find a new direction for the party.

When not avoiding housework by hanging out online, Barbara might be found reading, swimming, jogging, or watching college football. She lives in Oklahoma with her husband, two sons, and a Golden Retriever cleverly named Goldie.

and no interest from moderate Republican Colin Powell.

Obama brought the issue up. I’m just pointing out that he’s full of crap.

Colin Powell has indicated that he hasn’t made up his mind who he is voting for. He even stated on NATIONAL TELEVISION that he might vote for Obama.

And again, if Powell doesn’t come out and endorse Obama it means nothing, because nobody but Kristol made an issue of it.

I am here to call you out on your propaganda game.

Onemorevoice says:Now you assume that he HAS to land Powell? Because Bill Kristol said it?

A good argument to be sure. But don’t expect Rob to answer it. That would require intellectual honesty. Both of those are things your host sorely lacks.

I don’t think it’ll happen either , but Rob, Obama looks adequately “stupid” with or with out it :)

    Note:
Powell spokeswoman Peggy Cifrino denied the report.
“There’s absolutely no truth to it whatsoever,” Cifrino told FOXNews.com. “Colin Powell will not be at either convention. There’s absolutely no truth to this.”

    Ace25: Let’s hope not.

I don’t think so either, but with all the hype if it doesn’t happen Obama looks pretty stupid.
