Obama Goes To Europe, Apologizes For America’s Arrogance

Obama’s a proponent of the “blame America first” school of international diplomacy. He just tells ‘em what they want to hear.
We’re the real problem in the world.

We have a rock star president who for the first time in American history fired the President of a private corporation, General Motors, then immediately flew to Europe with an entourage of 500 courtiers and a worshipful media, bowed waist-deep to the King of Saudi Arabia, and proceeded to accuse his own country of arrogance.
In France, of all places.
Does anybody else think this guy is shockingly ignorant? I wonder if he has every really talked to a concentration camp survivor, or a Cuban refugee, or a boat person from Vietnam? Or a Soviet dissident. Or a survivor or Mao’s purges.
Not to mention families with fallen American soldiers in the graveyards. Yes, he’s going to Normandie, but will he apologize for our arrogance there, too?

Obama, true to his superficial “style over substance” approach to politics, seems more concerned with being friends with other countries than sound diplomacy. As though international diplomacy were a high school popularity contest.
It’s not surprising. Obama’s not a leader. He’s a candidate on an endless campaign.

Well done.US is perceived to be arrogant whether it is a fact or impression.Impressions are more critical. It needs greatness to acknowledge facts, especially if it is unpopular and sensitive. This Obama has done as a statesman. It needs greater moral rectitude to accept it by others.Let us see what others are made up of.

Obama does not have the right to speak about ” America’s arrogance” on my behalf. I wish I had been there. I would have loved to have had the opportunity speak for the vast majority of us who do not agree with him.

Obama is the most arrogant person I have ever seen. He is the worst POTUS we have ever had. I Hope for Change that Obama will be a One Termer!!! He is a power mad, big spending, Socialist who is incompetent and has no clue how to stimulate our economy. BUT he is doing a wonderful job stimulating Socialism.

I’m really really sorry Obama is such an idiot.

  • Hannitized

I think Henry Rollins wrote about how well Obama was received by our allies and throughout the G20.

This is the sort of CHANGE i was HOPING for.

In typical Rob fashion he links to commentary about the remarks, not the actual remarks.

  • Rezistik

Where’re his comments? I see an article about his comments..but not one of his comments.

Not to mention the author accuses obama of ignorance and then puts world war II before the civil war in chronology.

I don’t know that obama should be apologizing for our arrogance, hell it’s what makes us Americans. We should be arrogant.

Of course for the purposes for diplomacy we have to make some concessions.

eunuchized the beardless catamite of the “freudian projections” and severe reluctance bordering on inability to admit error opines:

In fact, I doubt Rob even knows what diplomacy is.

Whereas we are quite certain that eunuchized does not know what the meaning of the word “is” is.

I watched idiots at Fox News try to make a big deal about this, only to have a couple people remind them that Obama was able to accomplish a couple things Bush wasn’t able to do, and that in todays troubled times, what Obama did just might be what is needed to actually use diplomacy.

In fact, I doubt Rob even knows what diplomacy is.

In an informal or social sense, diplomacy is the employment of tact to gain strategic advantage or to find mutually acceptable solutions to a common challenge, one set of tools being the phrasing of statements in a non-confrontational, or polite manner.

There is someting absurd in a comic way that Obama can find “America’s Arrogance” to be greater than his own. Especially when evey reference to change in America, in every speech he gives is all about “his” decisions. Mr. Obama’s double talk is getting tired and dull.

Since he seems to prefer Europe, perhaps he should do us all a favor and stay there.

He should also apologize for our foolish blind support of Israel.

Too bad you don’t advocate diplomacy. Nice pretend whining, though.

He’s apologized today in Turkey to the Muslim world. He apologized to the G20 for America wreckign the world economy. He apologized to the European Union for American arrogance.

Honestly, are you guys even paying attentino? Or is it just a knee-jerk “Whatever obama does is good” stuff?

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/author/sparkiearbuckle sayanything-81

The apologies have to do with g20 cohesion. i mentioned them last night in the chat. We are being blackmailed by our own banks and the muslims. Wooo hooo! meanwhile, the danish economy unwinds. turkey is sped into EU membership as the EU threatens to become meaningless. they have no consitution after all, why not just stick a fork in it and go back to freedom of speech and freedom of press.

    Where is the arrogance ?
