Obama Flat-Out Lied About Not Meeting Blagojevich Over Senate Appointment

Yesterday I noted that Obama had been caught in a bit of a mistruth when he said “I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening.” According to Jack Tapper at ABC, Obama’s campaign manager David Axelrod told Fox News in Chicago on November 23rd that Obama had met with Blagojevich.
Even seemed to write that off to just a goof, but now it’s looking like Obama’s lie was a little more egregious than first thought. Obama had explicit meetings with Blago about the appointment according to this AP article from November:

QUINCY, IL — Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.
Obama met with Governor Rod Blagojevich earlier this week to discuss it. Illinois law states that the governor chooses that replacement. There’s already been speculation about his selection…from Congressman Jesse Jackson, Junior to Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs Director Tammy Duckworth.

I find it hard to believe that Obama just forgot that he’d met with Blago, in person, about this appointment. So the question remains: Why did Obama lie?
And when is someone going to ask him why he lied?

    Nah!!! You can’t be serious now! Politicians don’t lie. They mispeak, tell untruths, etc., but certainly don’t lie.

    I don’t think it is fair to say we want something “on” Obama, like most conservatives. I can only speak for myself, but I just want him to be honest, and do a good job. I don’t agree with his idealogy, but he will be the new Pres. Unlike Dino, I don’t want a depression, and I certainly don’t want anyone in this country to suffer! That’s sick. I think it is totally fair for people to question this, we don’t know much about this man, and we don’t know what he has been involved with, I hope he wasn’t involved in any of this. I don’t want our new Pres. to be a corrupt Chicago politician.

    It does not come as a shock that these guys lied. It is what they do. It is the means by which they get by. What bothers me is how many Americans tolerate it. The press venerates it. And we all suffer for it.

    There is no question that the man about to take office as the President of the United States is a corrupt anti-capitalist liar who believes the Constitution of this nation is a ‘negative document’ only spelling out that which the government can’t do to you, and he is going to use all the corrupt resources and unethical, dishonest and amoral tactics he can to turn this nation into a socialist government run mess.

    He will do this, with the complicity of the main stream media, and what bothers me the most, it will happen while the people of this nation, having dismissed common sense cheer this snake on.

    Two thoughts cross my mind, when I consider what is happening in this nation; one is caveat emptor and the other is you get what you vote for.

    There is no way he could have met with the governor without it being all in the news. They report when workouts, has a seat and takes a shit. Where is this AP story?

    Why would he lie about when we all now Patrick Fitzgerald is a monster when it comes to stamping out corruption? Fitzgerald would love to take down a high profile person like Obama. He is relentless. I know you want something on him like most conservatives, but this here is not it.

    Everyone acts like their elected officials republican or democrat are little angels….please. I guarantee not one is 100% clean. We all vote for who we believe is the lesser evil.

    Did anyone download the Fox news video of David Axelrod saying that Obama met with Blago? Every site that had a copy no long works, it says “this video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Fox…”

    What is up with this? There are plenty of Fox news videos on youtube. Can you spell cover up?

    H.R. Clinton, for some reason I picture her sitting back right now laughing and just waiting for her opportunity to drop a ‘told you so’ on the Democratic party.

    Well, this sure is a change. For the past eight years the Dems have wanted to find some kind of hard evidence so they could impeach the Prez, and look at this, there may be a case for the new Prez before he even gets in office.

    Maybe that’s why the Dems wanted to move up the inauguration date. That way he could use his exec powers to pardon and cover up all this mess.

    Hey Obama, welcome to the big leagues. This ain’t Chicago, this ain’t no party, ain’t no fooling around.

    PS- This whole thing will fade after Jan 20th, but I’m going to enjoy it while it’s here.
