Obama Explains Why He Didn’t Visit The Troops In Germany

But for me, the “vising the troops” issue isn’t the most important one discussed in this clip.  The interesting question is Obama being asked if he’s seen anything in Iraq that has made him second-guess his policies.

Obama, basically, says no.

What’s astonishing about Obama’s answer is that even the Associated Press is today declaring victory in Iraq

The tide is turning on Iraq, both in terms of mission objectives accomplished in the war and public opinion, and the incessantly defeatist Democrats are left with only two options on the issue: Continue their incessant defeatism and look like out-of-touch blowhards, or admit that Iraq has become and success and look like out-of-touch blowhards who have been wrong for the last five years but are finally getting a grip on reality.

Certainly the Democrats, who have made opposing the war in Iraq and calling Bush and Republicans fools for invading the country a central part of their national political strategy for years now, have no room to do a “180” on the issue now.

That’s what comes from being brain washed to believe all wars are evil and must therefore be stoppped at all costs.

Another example of the liberal mentality of ‘the ends justify any means.

One of the most important talents for success in politics is the ability to make utter nonsense sound not only plausible but inspiring. Barack Obama has that talent. We will be lucky if we escape the catastrophes into which other countries have been led by leaders with that same charismatic talent.

Whuhwaiwhoa-whoah-whoah!

The Obama article was revealing of his character, yes, but I’m frankly more interested in the Associated Press article linked beneath it.

The United States is now winning the war that two years ago seemed lost.

I’m… stunned into silence. o.0

Hot air has two videos, and in both of them, Obama just happens to mention his trip to Walter Reid. Oh, and by the way, did you hear that Obama went to Walter Reid? And John Kerry went to Viet Nam!

His military advisor that he wanted to take with him (to keep him from saying stupid things) was considered “political” and Obama didn’t want the trip to visit the wounded to be considered “political”!
There’s chutzpah for you! The whole damn European trip was political. Why should one tiny segment be any different?

It’s great that we have reduced the amount of terrorism we have introduced into Iraq by invading it.  I only hope that the results of invading Iraq turn out to be a positive thing.

Why you act like because the tide has turned must mean there is no possible danger that could erupt as a result of our intervening, I will never know.

Maybe you just like to bullshit yourself?

So, wait, the terrorism in Iraq was our fault?  And not, you know, al Qaeda’s?  And Iran’s?  And Syria’s?  And al Sadr’s?

And, before we invaded, Saddam Hussein?  You know, the guy who invited all those bad people into his country and sponsored terrorism himself?

I realize that your messiah is on the ropes on Iraq and your desperate for a talking point, but let’s not go down this road ok Hannitized?  For both our sanity.

The purpose of government shouldn’t be to do good, but simply to refrain from doing evil.

In Hannitized’s America-hating world, everything wrong is the US’s fault, probably including 9/11.  Blaming the US first is part of one’s liberal credentials.

Yeah, we introduced terrorism into Iraq…

To say that your political opposite hates America is extreme, dont’cha think? I love my country, but that doesn’t mean I agree with everything it does.

To clarify, Saddam didn’t necessarily support Al Qaeda. There was never a smoking gun between the two, and I’ve got a Joint Advanced Warfighting Program report that concludes the same. Saddam was the epitome of a control freak, and funded a plethora of terrorist cells sporadically, ones with more local targets in mind (Wetworks on Iraqi citizens/military/political persons)

The study found no “smoking gun” (IE., direct connection) between Saddam’s Iraq and al Qaeda. Saddam’s interest in and support for non-state actors was sread across a variety of revolutionary, liberation, nationalist, and islamic terrorist organizations.

-The Iraqi egime was involved in regional and international terrorist operations prior to OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. The predominant targets of Iraqi backed state terror operations were Iraqi citizens, both inside and outside of Iraq.
