Obama: “Everybody’s Going To Have To Give”

Can we stop for a moment and admire just how wrong-headed Obama’s “everybody’s going to have to give” comment really is? Obama made the comment to George Stephanopoulos (video), suggesting that the road to economic recovery lays with Americans giving more to the government?
At a time when Americans are losing their jobs and struggling to pay their bills Barack Obama wants to make their bill for government larger. So that Obama and the rest of the politicians running the government can save us all, I guess.
But is increasing the burden of government on Americans in a time of economic instability really the best move? Shouldn’t we be wanting to make Americans’ paychecks larger? And isn’t one sure-fire way to do that substantial cuts to tax rates? Wouldn’t Americans who have just lost their jobs, or who are struggling to get by, appreciate keeping more of their own money in their wallets and purses?
And it’s great to talk about sacrifice, but what sacrifices is this Democrat-run government prepared to make? Why must all the sacrifices come from the taxpayers and none from our government representatives who so gleefully spend our money day in and day out?
If Obama wants to talk about sacrifice, how about sacrificing some unnecessary government spending and then giving that money back to the Americans in the form of tax cuts?
Or would that make too much sense?

It is time for everyone to STOP giving ANYTHING to the government(municipal, county, state, federal) except the finger.

  • jimmypop

and by ‘everyone’ he means the top 10%.

    seriously, does this shock anyone?

  • ellinas

Actually no. Congress (and Bush) have blown through nearly a Trillion dollars and not made the situation better.

My point exactly. This is the largest theft of taxayer money in the history of the USA. And we are just siting around blogging about it, and trying to blame the other side.
    What a damn shame.

Common sense should dictate that when Prez Hope&Change is told even by his own that his plan won’t work and he continues to push it anyway, fixing anything is not his goal.

Mass impoverishment is a mighty tool.

If that’s true, why does Obama want to take and take and take?

I think it’s time those that don’t pay any federal income taxes to pay their fair share.

no BOTH sides did this as a payback to their favorite rich people. both pres candidates took time off to hand out this money.

It makes too much sense plus is decreases the governments power over us, both of which are opposite of liberal thought.

Before we have a government that can supply us with everything we will end up with a government that can provide us with nothing.

Of course it’s change you can believe in. SOCIALISM, coming to a city near you. Brought to you by Hussein Obama and the Clinton administration re-runs. Bend over and spread that wealth!!

Code word for re-distribution of wealth.

Because he like Bush has to pay and pay and pay for the screw ups of the few and few and few amongst us.
Pay a few to the Chinese, pay a few to the failed investment banks, pay a few to failed insurance companies, etc. etc.

I don’t think I should have to pay for someone elses mistakes. Also, let Barry raise taxes and drive the country further into the ground and this nightmare will be over in four years.

Change we can believe in? Where’s all the great ideas, reformations, etc…

The socialist likes to talk of the brotherhood of men that promote a nationalism centered on the cause of equality. Today this ideology is heard in statements like “the common good,” or “it’s time to sacrifice.” These are code words for a socialistic nationalism used to replace the capitalistic ideology of equal opportunity among men through the division of labor.

I wonder if that means he’ll give up his Rezko home

A few months after Obama became a U.S. senator, he and Rezko’s wife, Rita, bought adjacent pieces of property from a doctor in Chicago’s Kenwood neighborhood — a deal that has dogged Obama the last two years. The doctor sold the mansion to Obama for $1.65 million — $300,000 below the asking price. Rezko’s wife paid full price — $625,000 — for the adjacent vacant lot. The deals closed in June 2005. Six months later, Obama paid Rezko’s wife $104,500 for a strip of her land, so he could have a bigger yard. At the time, it had been widely reported that Tony Rezko was under federal investigation. Questioned later about the timing of the Rezko deal, Obama called it “boneheaded” because people might think the Rezkos had done him a favor.

    8. Eight months later — in October 2006 — Rezko was indicted on charges he solicited kickbacks from companies seeking state pension business under his friend Gov. Blagojevich. Federal prosecutors maintain that $10,000 from the alleged kickback scheme was donated to Obama’s run for the U.S. Senate. Obama has given the money to charity.

or hovels like this where he manages to just get by in.

And it seems that much of his education was paid for by another:

How exactly did Barack Obama pay for his Harvard Law School education?

The way the Obama campaign has answered the question was simply hard work and student loans.

But new questions have been raised about Obama’s student loans and Obama’s ties to a radical Muslim activist who reportedly was raising money for Obama’s Harvard studies during the years 1988 to 1991.

The allegations first surfaced in late March, when former Manhattan Borough president Percy Sutton told a New York cable channel that a former business partner who was “raising money” for Obama had approached him in 1988 to help Obama get into Harvard Law School.

In the interview, Sutton says he first heard of Obama about twenty years ago from Khalid Al-Mansour, a Black Muslim and Black Nationalist who was a “mentor” to the founders of the Black Panther party at the time the party was founded in the early 1960s.

Sutton described al-Mansour as advisor to “one of the world’s richest men,” Saudi prince Alwaleed bin Talal.

Prince Alwaleed catapulted to fame in the United States after the September 11 attacks, when New York mayor Rudy Guiliani refused his $10 million check to help rebuild Manhattan, because the Saudi prince hinted publicly that America’s pro-Israel policies were to blame for the attacks.

Sacrifice for thee, but not for me.

Obama said he wants targeted tax cuts

The “targeted” tax cuts he wants are essentially subsidies for green energies. He wants tax cuts for wind power and biofuels and stuff.

Fat lot of good that’s going to do the average taxpayer given that we’re already paying to subsidize those things.
