Obama Disappears Asssault Weapons Ban From President-Elect Website

First Obama disappeared his call for mandatory community service for kids in middle school through college from his “Office of the President-elect” website. Now he’s disappeared a call for a new assault weapons ban as well.
Here’s what it used to say:

The assault weapons ban was a mistake, and bring it back would be an even bigger mistake, but what’s troublesome beyond Obama’s utter lack of respect for the 2nd amendment is his utter inability to communicate a definitive, non-vague agenda to the American people.
He’s won the election. He and his supporters are calling it a “land slide” and a “mandate.” So why is he still hiding this stuff? If he wants involuntary service from our children (despite it being unconstitutional), and if he wants to severely limit our access to firearms (also unconstitutional, in my humble opinion) why not have the cojones to come out and say it? Especially in light of this alleged “mandate?”

Dont question the wisdom of “The One”.

All things will be made clear in time.

GOA and the NRA have their work cut out for them, then, in figuring out when Waxman, Pelosi, or others will try and “sneak” this stuff in. Chicago rules, man.

More slick than “willie”. Perhaps, we will soon see.

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

    1. Arms as in armaments, means any weapons and could include the guns and other weapons on a military aircraft, vehicle, or ship.
    2. Militia: Civilian soldiers and in the days of this Amendment meant every man and most women.
    3. People: Citizens.
    4. Shall not be infringed: Shall not be taken away, this especially means in minor, slow or gradual ways.
    5. Who shall not infringe? The government.

So, it means almost any weapon devised and manufactured, that average citizens can own and carrying them around; and that means even gun registration, or limits on assault weapons, wearing a pistol or carrying a rifle and other such things cannot be constitutionally legislated against in any manner. I want a tank with nuclear missiles.

If President-Elect, the most Magnificent, most Merciful, Lord Obama starts down the course of destroying the Second Amendment it may be time for the Great State of Texas to consider seceeding from the United Socialist States of America and going back to a Republic.

Well, we know a bit about him now; he’s not going to ramrod things through and tick off the gun lobby immediately. He’s smarter than Clinton at least.

Actually, there were breech-loaders among the earliest weapons, as well as early multi-shot weapons. You would also be dealing with mortars, cannon, and grenades. Those who think modern weaponry is distinctly dangerous really need to consider what our forebears actually had access to. If you consider that our ancestors could have a grenades and cannon firing grapeshot, and their neighbors didn’t have a modern trauma unit in their local hospital (along with an ambulance to get them there), the SKS or Kalishnikov doens’t seem so dangerous anymore.

This is so he can use a phone book to beat the crap out of Michelle, since the legal definition of “assault weapon” is any object used to assault a person. Don’t take my word for it, take the word of Case Law for it, since that is the “Law Of The Land” under Democrats.

As President, Barack Obama would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access gun trace information and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade.

Since its passage in 2003 as an amendment to an appropriations bill, the Amendment has forbidden the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives *(ATF) from releasing information from its firearms trace database to anyone other than a law enforcement agency or prosecutor in connection with a criminal investigation

Sounds like law enforcement has the tools!

    The NRA’s take on Tiahrt.

I thought a literal interpretation of the original intent would apply to muzzle loaders only?

That may be the stupidest thing you’ve ever said here, Spark. And that’s saying a lot!

That would be like saying “freedom of the press” only applied to hand cranked printing presses.

You really have lost your mind, haven’t you?

I thought a literal interpretation of the original intent would apply to muzzle loaders only? moving away from original intent are we?
