Obama Comes Out In Support Of Preemptive War?

What exactly does this mean?

He added, “The danger ... is that we are constantly fighting the last war, responding to the threats that have come to fruition, instead of staying one step ahead of the threats of the 21st century.”

Isn’t “staying one step ahead of the threats” sort of what Bush was doing when he invaded Iraq?

Did Obama just make a case for preemptive war?  Or are the Obama disciples going to tell us again that the words of the messiah don’t always mean what they appear to mean?

Doublespeak.

2.  doublespeak

From George Orwell’s 1984. The guy was 20 years out, but other than that fairly accurate… It’s the ability to hold two separated and completely contradictory statements in your head and believe that both are true…

He can say anything he wants.  No one will be as bad as what we already have.

Because he’s the messiah, right?  “The One,” and he’s perfect.

why is it that conservatives think the only way to deal with other countries is thru the use of force?

we were able to ‘stay ahead of the threat’ from the soviet union for 70 years without going to war.

crshedd:  Well, obviously we don’t think force is the only way to deal with other countries. Indeed, we have given more food, money and aid to foreign lands than any other nation on Earth.

We tend to use force when enemy planes kill 1,100 servicemen on a sleepy Sunday at Pearl Harbor, when friendly nations are unjustly invaded by their neighbors, or when 21 terrorists commandeer domestic flights and kill 3,000 innocent civilians at their work-places.
