Obama: Chicago Public Schools Worse Than Iraq

An interesting admission from Barrack Obama in that assault weapons article I just posted about:

Nearly three dozen Chicago students have been killed this year, according to Chicago Public Schools. Obama said that figure is higher than the number of Illinois serviceman who’ve died in Iraq in 2007.

Wow.  And Iraq is a war zone.  Chicago Public Schools is just…high school.  Kind of puts the war in perspective, no?

I wonder when the Democrats will be calling for a withdrawal from Chicago.

Were they killed on school property or on the streets in their respective “hood”? If these are gang bangers, then they just saved society years of extended grief. You can’t take anything these democrats say for granted. They have a tendency to extrapolate information out of context of reality. Obama has a track record of exaggerations in his public quotes. Hillary is no better. For that reason none of them are. There all a pack of liars.

Gosh, gun-free school in a theoretically gun-free city in an anti-gun state, and nobody was there to stop the crimes?  Well said, Barack—I take it you’ve come over to to good side on gun control, now?

Darn.  I thought not.

Robert Perry on July 16, 2007 at 01:38 pm

Robert Perry… You said it! The anti gun crowd really need to rethink their position.

Zsa Zsa on July 16, 2007 at 01:44 pm

Zsa Zsa,

A small correction , if I may.  The anti-gun crowd is not about to “re-think” their position, if only because that position is hardly based on thought in the first place.  They don’t think… they feel.

Bat One… You have got a point there.

To say that Barack Obama is not ready for prime time understates the case. He isn’t ready for a 3:00 a.m. infomercial…

Can he possibly not understand that if we desert Iraq, al Qaeda will thrive there, and will claim a propaganda victory far bigger than the September 11 attacks? Whereas, if we defeat al Qaeda in Iraq, that organization will be seen throughout the Muslim world as a spent force?

We can only take Obama at his word. Based on his own statements, he should not be allowed anywhere near the levers of power in our government.

Democrats are the ones in charge in Chicago. It’s a QUAGMIRE there. When are the Democrats going to PULL OUT? It’s obvious that they have NO PLAN to stop the bloodshed. How many more innocent people have to die?

if you take the time to look, many of these kids shot in chicago were 13, 14, 15 years old, not all associated with gangs. it doesn’t matter if they were shot at school—the problems indeed are arising AT school and then being taken care of after school. Mayor Daley has begun closing neighborhood schools and transferring kids across gang lines to other neighborhood schools—even kids not associated with gangs are feeling isolated and in need of protection. gangs aren’t a “fun” part of life for a fifteen and sixteen year old kid—they are a method of survival when their communities have been left to rot through useless public policy and public disinvestment.

kelly.  There were no gangs in America when I grew up.  Our ‘gang’ was our family.  When the ACLU communist liberals took God our of our schools, they also trued to substitute a cold communist form of family.  Only a return to traditional values including the honor of marriage between one man and one woman will solve this problem.  The corrupt police in Chicago with payoffs of Al and other gangs has not changed.  The kids see this.  I would be glad to debate this with you.  Where do you live?

Rob.

And Iraq is a war zone

!?!  I will add:  Chicago is a “gun free zone”  except for criminals.  Just like NY, DC and a few other blue/liberal states.
I will document again for those with a college degree.  Red states are safer.

We had a police chief here in Columbia, SC who said there were no gangs in Columbia.  The Richland County Sheriff said otherwise.  The police chief was trying to be PC (he is a Democrat, working for a Democrat mayor)

When I was a boy, this was a free country.  I can not remember anyone being killed with guns (who were under the age of 21).  I guess I have to specify what a child is and what an adult was then.  Definitions have changed legally, but psychologically, not as much.

I think I do remember two boys agreeing to wrestle after school.  There were no permanent injuries and they shook hands after.  There were no “big brothers” showing up the next day to beat up anyone.  Sorry if there are some without parents, but that is the Democrat’s fault for ushering in the Welfare system and “war on poverty” LBJ style.

If there are any adults who would like to debate, I will be back after my deacon’s meeting.

I see that there are some people with large chips on their shoulders like Mr. Pitts from Miami.  Now instead of organized Democrats threatening their own people and running Republicans out and calling them Uncle Toms, we have many liars twisting history.  I learned about revisionism in a graduate course on the history of schools in the USA.

The first small-minded people I ran into were two negroes calling each other niggers in 1957, and then again in 1975 two small minded “rednecks” talked to me in a less than civilized way while I was driving on a public road just minding my own business.

Democrats are the ones in charge in Chicago. It’s a QUAGMIRE there.

This is what floors me.  Children blaming their own people.
The very people complaining have the power of the ballot box to fix their own environment, but they point at others who have the integrity to live honestly.

It never ceases to amaze me.

Oh, here is my favorite reply to Mr. Pitts who has not replied.  Maybe he will “listen” to someone with the same complexion as he is?  Maybe not.  Thomas Sowell has a few degrees on him.
