Obama Campaign Workers Not Getting Paid, And Aren’t Happy About It

This wasn’t the sort of hope ‘n change they signed up for.

Indianapolis – Lines were long and tempers flared Wednesday not to vote but to get paid for canvassing for Barack Obama. Several hundred people are still waiting to get their pay for last-minute campaigning. Police were called to the Obama campaign office on North Meridian Street downtown to control the crowd.
The line was long and the crowd was angry at times.
“I want my money today! It’s my money. I want it right now!” yelled one former campaign worker.
A former spokesman for the Obama campaign said 375 people were hired as part of the Vote Corps program and said people signed up to work three-hour shifts at a time. Three hours of canvassing got workers a $30 pre-paid Visa card.
The workers showed up to get their cards Wednesday morning at 10:00 am.

With 105% of eligible voters in Indianapolis registered to vote, I’d say these people earned their $30, pre-paid credit cards.
Maybe Obama is redistributing the payments to someone else.

I can’t wait to see what other shady things turn up on his campaign. Although, they probably won’t be publicly known anyway. So much gets brushed under the rug by the media. People were blind and will have some new eyes soon. Too bad we all have to pay the price together.

These folks evidently don’t understand how a “job” works. You get paid on payday…. not before, not after. Payroll has to be calculated, etc……

According to the story, they all got paid, and for the most part, what they were owed. If the payments were off they were told to fill out forms and it would be taken care of.

The real story here is how rude these people were, some of them for as little as three hours of work. Such quotes “people were mad that the line didn’t move as fast as they wanted” and “the sign said it opened at 1. at 12:30 they’re saying ‘Why is no one here?’” Entitlement much?

These are like the labor ready people we have to call in when someone cancels…lazy, stupid, and expect immediate payment for a mediocre job.
