Obama Campaign Website Before Purge: Troops Out Of Iraq By 2009, After Purge: Troops Out by 2010

Here’s what Obama’s campaign website used to say about troop withdrawals from the war in Iraq:

All Combat Troops Redeployed by 2009: Barack Obama would immediately begin redeploying American troops from Iraq. The withdrawal would be strategic and phased, directed by military commanders on the ground and done in consultation with the Iraqi government. Troops would be removed from secure areas first, with troops remaining longer in more volatile areas. The drawdown would begin immediately with one to two combat brigades redeploying each month and all troops engaged in combat operations out by the end of next year.

Here’s what it says now:

Barack Obama said Monday he would set a goal of having all U.S. combat brigades out of Iraq by summer 2010 and shift more resources to fighting Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.

It’s worth noting that had Obama and most of his Democrat colleagues gotten their way in, say 2006 there wouldn’t be any US troops in Iraq right now having the sort of success that’s forcing Obama to push back his time line for defeat by another year.

Barack Obama is simply too inexperienced and judgmentally impaired to be this country’s Commander-in-chief!  Either that, or he is simply too stupidly dishonest.

In either case, a more rational, honest approach to both Afghanistan and Iraq would be to wait until AFTER he has visited both theaters of operation and spoken with the commanders on the ground BEFORE offering his assessment of what should be done.

Obama has spent one day in Iraq, before the implementation of the “surge” strategy which he opposed ad derided as failed even as he voted against it.  He has never set foot in Afghanistan, nor has he spoken with the military commanders in either theater of operations.

I’ve heard it said that Obama doesn’t do stupid things.  That’s delusional drivel.  His entire approach to both Iraq and Afghanistan has been stupid from the very beginning of his brief career.

I haven’t bothered to check, but isn’t B. Hussein’s entire old web site pages on the wayback machine or some other archive? smile

Your listening to too much talk radio. Please tell me what the “timeline for victory” is?

Gee, I guess this is as bad as the administration’s promise that there would be peace in the country 6 months after the major war would end.  People would dance in the streets throwing flowers around.  Democracy would foloursh in Iraq soon after, and then the building blocks of tyranny in the region would start falling one-by-one.  Talk about inexperience and poor judgement.
