Obama Campaign: McCain Made Georgia Worse

Susan Rice, senior foreign policy adviser to Barack Obama, was Hardball last night telling America that McCain’s “shoot from the hip” response to the situation in Georgia may have complicated issues there.

John McCain shot from the hip, [with a] very aggressive, very belligerent statement …He may or may not have complicated the situation.

It’s not shooting for the hip if McCain, unlike Obama, knows what he’s talking about.
I guess McCain should have taken the nuanced initial position Obama did and call on Georgia to “restrain” itself as Russian tanks started rolling through its streets.

    Yeah, the lefties don’t understand moral strength, which is why they accused Reagan of starting WWIII when he talked mean to the Soviets. You know how that turned out. McCain might have done the first real Presidential thing of his candidacy.

    Whoa! Way to step out on a limb and take a stand. I think we’re catching a preview of both candidates as president assuming McCain wasn’t just blowing hot air. Obama just verified his air isn’t even that hot.

    An Obama presidency has all the earmarks (no pun intended!) of a Jimmy Carter re-run, both in domestic and international affairs. Susan Rice, a former Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, is billed as an expert on “weak and failing states” according to Brookings.

    Carter saw diminishing the US standing to the world’s lower, common denominator as a noble undertaking (though not a Nobel one – heh!), and Rice’s current position as senior foreign policy advisor the Obama certainly indicates that the Democrats’ candidate would take the US in a similar direction.

    Obama’s foreign policy views are every bit as wrong-headed as his economic and tax policy pronouncements

    There’s one word for this type of behavior:

    Appeasement.

    It didn’t work with Germany and it won’t work with Russia. The whole play nice “please don’t invade your neighbors” rhetoric doesn’t work with these people.

    WOOF. Things in the former USSR are not quite as clear as some portray them. Your explanation is one view. I do not support any country getting involved in a civil war. I was against our actions against Serbia (Kosova) and I would be against a Georgian attempt at “liberating” S. O. from Russia as well if that is The Truth.
