Obama Campaign Getting Contributions From Voters Named “Jgtj Jfggjjfgj” And “Doodad Pro”
The DC Examiner says that the FEC should be reviewing Obama’s campaign contributions. Now.
Turns out that “Doodad Pro” and “Good Will” are not the only phony contributors to Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. The New York Times finally bestirred itself to apply some basic investigative journalism attention to the Democratic presidential nominee’s donor list. The Times found nearly 3,000 other questionable donors like “Jgtj Jfggjjfgj” and “Dirty West” after what the paper admitted was just a cursory look at the Illinois senator’s September financial filings. But then Times reporters Michael Luc and Griff Palmer revealed an incredible level of naivety by stating “it is unclear why someone making a political donation would want to enter a false name.”
Unclear? What other motive could there be for using a phony name and a nonexistent address to make multiple small donations using a single credit card than to evade U.S. election laws? Such journalistic gullibility may explain why bloggers have been on this story for months and the Times is only now noticing. . . . The FEC’s primary job is to protect the integrity of our federal election process. With this many red flags flying and barely three week left before election day, there’s no time to lose if voters are to have all the information at hand before casting their ballots.
Remember that back in February, when Obama was still just a primary candidate, he already had $31 million in political contributions that were under $200 and thus weren’t disclosed to the FEC. If every one of those contributions were exactly $200 we’d be talking about 155,000 contributors. For a primary candidate. Early in the primaries.
The RNC is also pursuing a complaint over Obama accepting contributions from people who aren’t Americans, and at least one FEC auditor is blowing the whistle and demanding an investigation into Obama’s contributions.
The voters deserve transparency in this issue. And if this were a Republican we were talking about you can bet the media would be demanding that transparency. But we’re not talking about a Republican. We’re talking about Obama the media darling. The left’s Messiah. And because of that these serious questions about the legality of his political contributions aren’t important just as his associations with people like William Ayers and Jeremiah Wright aren’t important.
If McCain had a long-standing personal and professional relationship with an unrepentant abortion clinic bomber, and if he had a database of contributions full of names like “Jgtj Jfggjjfgj,” his campaign would have already collapsed. But with Obama it probably won’t be any more than a speed bump.
