Obama Apologizes For Insulting Nancy Reagan

In Obama’s first press conference as President-elect he got in a jab at…Nancy Reagan. Then he apologized for being an inconsiderate jerk.

CHICAGO (AP) — President-elect Obama has called Nancy Reagan to apologize for joking that she held seances in the White House.
At a news conference Friday, Obama said he had spoken with all the living presidents. Then he smiled and said he didn’t want to get into a “Nancy Reagan thing” about doing seances.
The former first lady had consulted with astrologers during her husband’s presidency. But she did not hold conversations with the dead.

Nothing says “hope, change and bi-partisanship” like insulting the ailing wife of an iconic former President.
If Palin had said something this dumb Saturday Night Live would structuring a show around it and Jay Leno/David Letterman would be re-writing their monologues. But it’s Obama, so he gets a pass.

A distinction without a difference; the reality is that Obama made fun of Nancy Reagan for doing what Hillary actually did. He has yet to come clean on the entire matter. Why would he make up something like that about Nancy Reagan? He has yet to take responsibility for his lie about her. A general apology just doesn’t cut it. He told a vicious lie about a woman who wasn’t there to defend herself. This is worse than shameful for someone who thinks he is of Presidential caliber, much less a “messiah”. This was just mean, and he can’t apologize enough for such a disgraceful and vicious act.

So what? He still hasn’t admitted the truth: He told a vicious lie about her when it was really Hillary. Again, why did he lie about Nancy? What was his purpose in doing that? Mr Obama did say something stupid, we all do it, though we don’t have the microphone of the President-elect, which is one reason why his sarcasm isn’t going to fly. But the bigger issue here is the fact that the mainstream media will give him a pass, making excuses for him or not acknowledging the mis-steps at all. Never will you hear Katie Couric or The View ladies call him dumb, a cowboy, or any other tactless name just to besmirch him. Letterman would have devoted his whole monoloque had it been Bush, Palin, or any other conservative that would have said something so condescending. It will be an interesting 4 years indeed.
