Obama Administration Creates 10,000 New Jobs
Too bad they’re 10,000 temporary government jobs that cost the American taxpayer $85,000,000 in “stimulus” money. The sad part is that Obama will no doubt put these “jobs” in his bogus “jobs created or saved by the stimulus” tally.
Need to fix unemployment? Raise taxes and put them on the government payroll!
WASHINGTON – Nonprofits and other organizations are getting $85 million in stimulus money to put about 10,000 people to work in distressed communities.
The Corporation for National and Community Service — the agency in charge of disbursing the money — says the new slots will be filled during the summer and fall.
If this is such a wonderful idea, why not pay all of the unemployed people to “volunteer” in AmeriCorps. That way the unemployment problem is solved, no?
Of course, it wouldn’t work. Because AmeriCorps isn’t an economic stimulus. AmeriCorps, it’s budget and all of its volunteers are a burden on the economy. This money isn’t stimulating anything. Its making things worse.
