Obama: The Economy “Is Always My Responsibility”

Written By:

On CBS’ Early Show the President was asked when the economy is his responsibility and no longer the fault of his predecessor. That this question even has to be asked as Obama readies for re-election to a second term is evidence of how hard Obama has tried to deflect responsibility for the economy.

But Obama, apparently forgetting how hard he’s worked to blame President Bush, says the economy “is always my responsibility.”

What Bush did or didn’t do to the economy at this point (and I think he has a great deal of culpability for the housing bubble, as one example). The point is that what Obama has done to try and fix the economy not only hasn’t worked, it’s made things worse.
