Obama: Republicans Put America In The Ditch, Democrats Got It Out
Uh, sure Barry.
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama mocked Republicans with images of cars in ditches and mopping up messes.
Determined to rally Democrats, Obama told donors at a fundraiser Thursday night in New York City that his administration and congressional Democrats have tried to repair a battered economy while Republicans have remained on the sidelines.
“So after (Republicans) drove the car into the ditch, made it as difficult as possible for us to pull it back, now they want the keys back,” Obama said. “You can’t drive! We don’t want to have to go back into the ditch! We just got the car out!”
If this is what pulling the car out of the ditch looks like, by all means let’s have the Republicans back again.

The “stimulus” didn’t work. TARP didn’t solve any problems in the financial sector but rather, with hundreds of billions in bailouts, kicked the metaphorical can that represents those problems down the road.
The media wants to talk recovery. The liberals want to talk recovery. But there is no recovery. I expect unemployment to remain at elevated levels (from what we saw under most of the Bush administration) for the indefinite future. And while Obama and his apologists can champion the fact that we’ve managed to reach some sort of statistical plateau in those unemployment numbers (which, I am convinced, are not related in any way meaningful to his policies) misery in the economy will continue.
And when the inevitable tax hikes Obama and his fellow liberals are pushing to address the massive deficits and debt they’ve created hit the economy? Things will get worse.
Hope for change.
