Obama Explains His Debate Performance: “I Was Just Too Polite”

President Obama told liberal talk radio show host Tom Joyner that his problem with the Mitt Romney debate was that he was “too polite.”

That’s an odd thing to say for a politician who, less than a year ago, was urging more “civility” in American political discourse.

I don’t think Obama’s problem was politeness. I think Obama’s problem was that it’s almost impossible to defend his policy track record. But then, maybe the president thinks that wouldn’t have been so glaringly obvious if he’d spent a little more time attacking Romney personally.
