Number Of Solidly Democrat States Cut In Half Since 2008

A backlash of sorts, I think. Democrats, when they had their super majority, tried to push the country so far left so fast that people who were supportive of Obama and the Democrats have simply changed their minds.
At least, that’s the knee-jerk analysis. But even with this decline in solidly-Democrat states, and the decline in Democrat voter affiliation, it’s worth remembering that it doesn’t mean these voters are ready to start casting their ballots for conservatives.

Note that while there’s a lot of dissatisfaction with Democrats, apparent from these and other results, it’s not exactly changing into a lot of support for Republicans.
But even given that, this trend portends good things for Republicans in the next election in so far as they’re the default alternative to Democrats.
