NRA Endorses…McCain!

The NRA today endorsed John McCain for President of the United States.

WASHINGTON —

The National Rifle Association is endorsing Republican presidential nominee John McCain despite differences with the Arizona senator on gun-show rules and campaign finance restrictions.
NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre and the chairman of the NRA’s political action committee planned stops Thursday in Pennsylvania, Missouri, Colorado and Nevada to talk about the move.

LaPierre said the two agree on many issues important to the group.

“He’s cast more than 60 votes in the Senate in support of the Second Amendment,” LaPierre said.

Not totally surprising, but welcome, nonetheless!

How much weight does this carry today..? Barry is far more left/anti gun than the folks that came before him, so how will this affect the vote..?

I know it goes here in PA.

Don’t know. They are putting their money where their mouth is, though. Today they bought a full page ad in USA Today reminding people of Obama’s record on Second Amendment issues.

They could have sat this one out. But the stakes are too high if the country gets bamboozled by Obama.

ditto. Do endorsements mean much of anything? If I’m borderline on a candidate and I respect the group sure but were we unclear on Obama at any point?
